Laterally: Folds over the superior turbinate and upper surface of the middle turbinate.
Total surface area: 5-10 square centimeters.
Olfactory Mucosa:
Olfactory Cells: Bipolar nerve cells derived from the CNS (100 million), with 4-25 olfactory cilia per cell.
Sustentacular Cells: Produce mucus and maintain ionic and molecular environment.
Basal Cells: Replace worn-out olfactory cells with an average lifespan of 1-2 months.
Bowman’s Gland: Secretes mucus.
Stimulation of Olfactory Cells:
Odorant dissolves in mucus and attaches to receptors on olfactory cilia.
Involves a cascade effect through G-proteins and second messengers, leading to depolarization and action potential generation in the olfactory nerve.
Quality of a Good Odorant:
Small (3-20 Carbon atoms), volatile, water-soluble, and lipid-soluble.
Facilitated by odorant-binding proteins in mucus.
Membrane Potential and Action Potential:
Resting membrane potential: -55mV.
Action potential frequency in the olfactory nerve increases with odorant strength.
Adaptation Towards the Sense of Smell:
Rapid adaptation within the first second, with further slow adaptation.
Psychological adaptation greater than receptor adaptation, involving feedback inhibition from the central nervous system.
Primary Sensations of Smell:
Camphoraceous, Musky, Floral, Pepperminty, Ethereal, Pungent, Putrid.
Odor Detection Threshold:
Examples: Hydrogen sulfide (0.0005 ppm), Methyl-mercaptan (0.002 ppm).
Some toxic substances are odorless at lethal concentrations.
Characteristics of Smell:
Odor blindness for single substances due to lack of appropriate receptor protein.
Behavioral and emotional influences of smell.
Transmission of Olfactory Signals:
From olfactory cells to glomeruli in the olfactory bulb, involving lateral inhibition.
Primitive, less old, and new olfactory systems with different path

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).

3. A lifestyle of Health & Wealth
•Did you know that 2011 life expectancy in
Tanzania for men was 58.3 and women 60.5 But
in 2012 it dropped sharply to 51.62 for men and
54.7 for women; and this is associated with poor
nutritional choices & stress?
•Did you know that the leading causes of death in
the U.S. (coronary heart diseases, stroke, cancer,
diabetes, atherosclerosis and liver diseases) are
associated with poor nutritional choices and
overeating?
4. A lifestyle of Health & Wealth
•The water we drink is not 100% pure
•The food we eat is not balanced
•The air we breathe is polluted
•Many Tanzanians are living on fast-foods & soda
•Modern lifestyle is increasing the stress that people experience
everyday
•Prescription drugs are killing people by their serious
adverse effects that when weighed against their benefits
are actually more harmful than helpful
5. A lifestyle of Health & Wealth
•Doctors have known for years that in order to
maintain optimum health, we need at least 90
nutrients daily. These nutrients include a minimum
of 59 minerals,16 vitamins,12 amino-acids and 3
essential fatty acids
•Prevention is better than cure
•TREVO is the most complete nutraceutical dietary supplement in the
world today.174 concentrated ingredients;synergized,micronized and
bioactive.
6. Prescription Drugs & Your Health
Every year, all over the world, hundreds of thousands of
people are injured or die from the side effects of OTC &
prescription drugs.
Brief list of potentially harmful/deadly prescription drugs:
Ketek: a bronchitis drug that causes liver damage and even
death.
Trasylol: a drug frequently administered prior to heart-bypass
surgery known to double the risk of kidney failure and stroke
7. Prescription Drugs & Your Health
Ortho Evra: a popular contraceptive patch known to
cause blood clots, heart attack, stroke, and breast cancer.
Celebrex: a very popular arthritis medication known to
more than double the risk of heart attack and associated
cardiovascular problems.
Captopril and Enalopril: high blood-pressure
medications known to cause fetal kidney damage and
even death when taken during pregnancy.
8. Doctors & Medication Errors
According to a report in the Journal of
American Medicine (July 26, 2000):
•12,000 patients die each year due to unnecessary surgery
•7,000 patients die each year due to medication errors by hospital
staff
•20,000 patients die per year because of other hospital errors
•80,000 patients die every year due to infections contracted while
hospitalized
•106,000 patients tragically and needlessly die each year due to
negative effects of drugs, even though the drugs were properly
administered
9. A case for Nutritional Medicine
Most doctors are NOT trained in Nutritional
Medicine.
The major aim of Nutritional Medicine is to
consume NATURAL foods that provide adequate
nutrition and protection for the cells of the body.
These foods should be very rich in ANTI-OXIDANTS that mop up
FREE RADICALS that damage the cells of the body thereby causing
some debilitating diseases commonly associated with old age.
The body is able to heal itself if it is fed, at the
cellular level, with NATURAL ingredients.

problems so when I discovered that I was expecting, I was pretty concerned about

I can't believe how good I feel. I used to go to bed at 10PM every night because I
was so completely worn out. Now if I go to bed at 10PM, it's because I choose to.
This stuff makes me feel like a young woman!“ ~ Susie N.
