2. What is Smartphone
 A Smartphone is a mobile phone
with highly advanced features. A
typical Smartphone has a high-
resolution touch screen display, Wi-Fi
connectivity, Web browsing
capabilities, and the ability to
accept sophisticated applications.
The majority of these devices run on
“mobile operating system”

 Symbian becomes the first modern mobile
OS on a smartphone with the launch of
the Ericsson R380.

5. 2007
 Apple iPhone with iOS is introduced as
an iPhone, "mobile phone" and "internet
communicator

6. 2008
 OHA releases Android 1.0 with the HTC
Dream as the first Android phone.

of Smartphone's operating system. Now I
want to show the position of those operating
system.

Initially developed by Android, Inc.,
which Google backed financially and
later bought in 2005, Android was

operating system developed and
distributed by Apple Inc. Originally
unveiled in 2007 for the iPhone, it has
been extended to support other
Apple devices such as the iPod

generation Apple TV (September
2010)

14. Windows phone
 Windows Mobile is an operating
system supported by Microsoft.
Windows Mobile is based on Microsoft
Win32 API. Windows mobile works on
some devices including Pocket PC,
smartphones, communicators. Most
versions of Windows Mobile have a set
of standard features such as
multitasking and the ability to
navigate a file system and it comes
bundled with a set of applications.

 Blackberry :-
It is closed source and proprietary.
BlackBerry 10 was the next
generation platform for BlackBerry
smartphones and tablets. One OS
was planned for both Blackberry
smartphones and tablets going
forward.
