BOT/PPP model
By adopting elements of the BOT/PPP model we provide
a full-spectrum service with a guaranteed option to
transfer the title to the client.
Public-private partnership (BOT/PPP) are performance
based contracts between a public agency and the
private sector where the latter privately finances
delivery of turn-key projects while assuming the
majority of the (financial, technical and operational)
risk.
Using the BOT/PPP model Abengoa has been able
to offer packaged solutions that are tailored to
the needs of its clients. Because Abengoa
oversees design, construction and financial phases
it ensures a low fixed water rate.

  • 27. Innovative technology solutions for sustainability ABENGOA BOT/PPP model By adopting elements of the BOT/PPP model we provide a full-spectrum service with a guaranteed option to transfer the title to the client. Public-private partnership (BOT/PPP) are performance based contracts between a public agency and the private sector where the latter privately finances delivery of turn-key projects while assuming the majority of the (financial, technical and operational) risk. Using the BOT/PPP model Abengoa has been able to offer packaged solutions that are tailored to the needs of its clients. Because Abengoa oversees design, construction and financial phases it ensures a low fixed water rate. 27
  • 28. Innovative technology solutions for sustainability ABENGOA BOT/PPP model 28 Assets with regulated revenues with long term sales contracts or price agreements Shared financial risk: both public and private partners Allows both parties to take part in “bigger than expected projects” BOT/PPP Externalized management Required investment is taken out from the client balance sheet Technical risk is assumed by private partner No increase of water price due to a more efficient private management No specific finance is needed from the utility Investment in PPP infrastructure projects with in-house technology as a competitive advantage
