A record label manages and promotes artists' music, including production, distribution, and enforcing copyright. Major labels have more money for high quality music videos but less creative freedom, while independent labels have less money but more control. The document recommends an artist sign with RCA Records, a major label known for hip hop artists similar to this one, in order to produce hit songs and videos and become famous. 2.  A record label is a publishing company that
manages brands and trademarks, organises the
production, manufacture, distribution,
marketing, promotion, and enforcement of
copyright for the songs and music videos of
their artists. Other roles of record labels talent
scouting and developing the young and new
artists the labels must maintain fair contracts
with recording artists and their managers.

3.  Major record labels have a large finance and therefore would be
able to produce higher quality music and music videos. Being
signed to a major record label also means that it is easier to
collaborate with other large artists especially if they are with the
same label as you. The problem with major record labels Is that
you have less control and less freedom as well as you will be
constantly watched by the media because of your status of being
on a major label.
 A Independent label may have less money but you will have more
control over your style and music. Independent labels often work
with other companies so you will still be able to collaborate with
other artists but you selection will be a lot slimmer. Less media
attention will be placed on you due to the little promotion from an
independent label which gives you extra freedom.

4.  I believe my artist would sign for a major record label
due to his type of music and because of the similar
style of other big artists. RCA Records is a suitable
label for my artist because of the artists that are signed
onto it like Chris Brown, A$AP Rocky, Usher and Kid
Ink who produce similar hip hop music to my artist.
The Label has the financial backing my artist needs to
produce the quality music and music video to make
him a known star.

6.  Copyright is a legal right created by the law of a
country that allows the inventor of an original piece of
work exclusive rights for its use and distribution. The
exclusive rights are limited by certain restrictions and
exceptions to copyright law for example fair use.
Copyright only protects the original expression of the
ideas and not the idea in its entirety themselves. Artists
and labels use copyright to stop others using the same
ideas or pieces of music like the instrumental or lyrics.

7.  Due to using copyrighted music I need to make sure
that the video is not used or profitable reasons
especially since the song we are using is only available
for purchase ( I have it via Spotify). I am able to use the
video for educational reasons (for the video) as I am
not making profit and only using it to further my
education which is a positive thing. I need to credit the
artist and label for their work and not claim the song
fro myself so viewer know whose property it is. I will
give a link to the song (to benefit the artist) so they can
purchase the song for themselves.
