The parrots lived happily in the forest until a hunter captured them to gift to the king. They were treated well and respected in the palace until a monkey was also brought to entertain the king and prince. The monkey became the new attraction and the parrots did not receive food. The older, wise parrot comforted his brother that their bad days would pass and nothing is permanent. When the monkey scared the prince, it was sent away and the parrots' good treatment in the palace resumed.
