A Possible Role of Rosmarinic Acid against CD2 Associated Protein for the Tre...YogeshIJTSRD
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic inflammatory neurodegenerative disorder which directly affects Central Nervous System CNS . People with MS suffer with an episodic reversible memory loss during the initial stages and later it leads to the neurological deterioration. Number of research and studies has been done on the natural compounds and phytochemical compounds in order to develop the particular drug for the treatment of MS in vivo andin vitro. The present study focuses on the inhibitory effect of Rosmarinic acid against the effect of CD2 Associated protein with the help of Molecular Docking. Molecular Docking basically screens the ligand and the target protein and shows the interaction between them on the basis of the minimum binding affinities and drug likeliness properties. In our research, docking was performed between CD2 Associated protein and selected ligands with the help of docking software. Ligands were selected on the basis of their minimum Binding affinities and finally by their drug likeliness properties. Rosmarinic acid BA 5.6 was the resultant ligand of our recent study. It showed the perfect interaction with CD2 Associated protein. Therefore, we may conclude that Rosmarinic acid may act as a compound which may be used as a drug for the treatment of multiple sclerosis fromfurther in vitro and in vivostudies in future. ABSTRACT : Renovascular hypertension reflects the causal relation between anatomically evident arterial occlusive disease and elevated blood pressure. The coexistence of renal arterial vascular disease and hypertension roughly defines this type of nonessential hypertension. The aim of this study was to measure the level of serum Anti-Annexin V antibodies in patients with renal hypertension. Methods. This study was conducted on 115 patients, diagnosed with renal hypertension and hypertension. Informed consents were obtained from the patients and the study was approved by the Kharkiv National Medical University ethics committee. Ten healthy age and sex matched volunteers were included as a control group. All patients and controls were subjected to the following full history taking and thorough clinical examination. Routine laboratory testing included a complete blood count, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and kidney function tests (blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine). Immunological tests for antinuclear antibody (ANA) and anticentromere antibodies (ACA) was performed by the indirect immunofluorescence technique. AntiScl-70 (anti-topoisomerase antibodies) and anticardiolipin antibodies (ACA: IgG and IgM) were tested using the ELISA technique. The anti-annexin V antibodies titre used the ZYMUTEST anti-Annexin IgG ELISA kit. [Hyphen-BioMed, France.]: to measure the IgG isotype of auto-antibodies to annexin V in human serum. Results. Anti-annexin V antibodies were present in 75% of patients (mean 83.46 ± 22.44 AU/mL) vs. 0% in the controls (mean 3.94 ± 4.5 AU/mL). Comparison between patients and controls as regards levels of anti-annexin V showed a highly significant difference (P < 0.001). Furthermore, correlation of anti-annexin V titres with the disease activity score in the patient group showed a statistically significant positive correlation (r = 0.51, P < 0.05).In addition, the anti-annexin V antibody titres in this study showed a highly significant positive correlation with ACL antibodies (r = 0.74, P < 0.001). Patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) have been known to have a higher frequency of anti-annexin V antibodies, and thrombotic events have been reported more frequently in patients with positive anti-annexin V antibodies. Furthermore, inhibition of annexin V binding to negatively charged phospholipids may be an additional pathogenic mechanism of APS.

Factors affecting mortality in burns: a single center studyKETAN VAGHOLKAR
Background: Burns injury continues to be the greatest challenge to the trauma surgeon. A multitude of factors determine the mortality in burns patients. The present study aims at identifying those factors which have a significant impact on mortality in burns patients.
Methods: A total 80 patients presenting with burns injury were studied prospectively. Various factors which included age, sex, aetiology, mode of injury, total body surface area which is burnt (BSA), duration of stay, time interval up to admission, pregnant state, inhalation injury, systemic complications, wound complications, and psychological impact were studied.
Results: The mean age was 24.07 years. 59 were females, 21 were males. 19 (23.75%) cases were suicidal in aetiology whereas the remaining 61(76.25%) were accidental. Flame injury was the most common mode of injury in 65 patients (81.25%). The mean BSA in the study was 53.5% whereas the mean BSA in those patients who expired was 71.4%. Mean duration of stay in hospital was 6.55 days whereas mean time interval between burns injury and admission to hospital was 101.33 minutes. All 12 pregnant women had spontaneous miscarriages with a mortality in 11 patients. Inhalation injury was seen in 49 patients (61%) with mortality of 42 (83.7%) patients. Systemic complications seen in 60 patients mortality and BSA was high in patients who had infection. 31 patients in the study had severe depression with a mortality of 91.32%. 50 out of the 80 patients studied expired.
Conclusions: Increased age, BSA, mode of injury, presence of inhalation injury, systemic complication, pregnant state, wound infection and depression had a significant impact on the mortality of burns patients.

INTRODUCTION: In India maxillofacial injuries are among the common ones that present to emergency department. Maxillofacial injury can be defined as injury to the facial soft tissue, skeleton and other associated structures resulting deformity or destruction of jaw and eyes. MATERIAL & METHOD: The cases were documented as per proforma, noting name, age, sex, education, religion, socioeconomic status, occupations, mode of trauma and clinical history were recorded and also noted the past H/o of different complaints of ear, nose, throat and face. X-rays and CT scan were done to identify fractures of different maxillofacial region. RESULTS: Results of this study showed that among 150 patients, 122 (81.33%) were males, maximum 62 (41.33%) patients were in 21-30 years of age group, the face was the commonest site of maxillofacial injuries (73.33%), followed by nose (67.33). The nasal bleeding (78.67%) was commonest noted symptom and assaults were the most common cause (48%) of facial injury and nasal bone was the commonest fractured bone (32.66%), CONCLUSION: The incidence of maxillofacial injuries were maximum in age group of 21-30 years and male were more prone for maxillofacial trauma. The most common symptom in present series was epistaxis. Nasal bone was the most commonly fractured bone and assault was the commonest cause of facial injury as compared to road traffic accident. This study showed that increase number of interpersonal violence responsible for facial injury.

Using an electrical approach in the field of agriculture can be considered as one of the solutions in order to control harmful flying insects. This technique is based on the use of a bio and selective electrical insecticide whose principle consists in attracting insects by the light then get them electrocuted by an electrical discharge. Moreover, There are several parameters that affect the selectivity of electrical insecticide such as: the light, the most efficient, the inter electrode distance, where the insect is exterminated, and the electric current that passes through the insect’s body. In this paper, a simulation study was carried out concerning the distribution of the electric field between two electrodes in presence of particle conductor while focusing on the different body sizes. On the other hand, an experimental study was conducted on live locusts to determine the effect of electrical current on insect’s body taking into account the voltage and frequency. Finally, the results are discussed and analyzed in this paper.

Context: Steel is crucial to the development of any modern economy and is considered to be the backbone of human civilization.
Although studies on adverse health effects in steel industry workers were reported from European and other countries, studies
of this nature are meager in Indian ethnic group, where the health problems in steel industry workers are very serious. In the
present study, we focused on adverse health effects in steel industrial workers who were occupationally exposed to steel dust.
To the best of our knowledge, this is the first investigation of its kind.
Methods: The study was carried out in 435 steel industry workers in the group of 20-60 years who are occupationally exposed
to steel dust and in 426 subjects with no history of occupational exposure to steel dust or any other chemicals (control group).
Information on the age, medical history, and habits like smoking, consumption of alcohol, surgical history, medication, and
nature of the job, marital life and years of service were recorded in a standard questionnaire.
Results: The results have shown an increase in health problems particularly Hair loss, respiratory problems, diabetes, joint pains,
followed by hypertension, headache, and eye problems. Their frequency of health problems was high in steel industrial workers
compared to controls (71.03% vs 31.0%).
Conclusion: On the basis of the results obtained in the present study, definite conclusions were drawn on the nature of health
problems in workers of the steel industry. The frequency of health problems was high in steel industrial workers compared to
controls. This might be due to the undue exposure to steel dust at work place. Hence appropriate precautionary measures have
to be taken to prevent or minimize the exposure of the workers to steel dust.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. Introduction
Electrocution:- Passage of a substantial electrical
current through the tissue which can cause skin
lesions, organ damage and death
Injury and death from passage of an electric current
through the body are common in both industrial and
domestic circumstances.
3. INCIDENCE OF ELECTROCUTION DEATHS :
Developed country like the US:- Consumer product
associated electrocution) during 2002 to 2008 =432
deaths
Developing country like India (NCRB):-
In 2008 = 8067 deaths
In 2009 = 8539 deaths i.e. 2.4 % of All Accidental
deaths.
4. Aim of the study
To study the incidence of electrocution deaths .
To detect the common source of electrocution.
To study the pattern of injuries sustained.
5. Materials & methods
Study design : Descriptive.
Study period : Retrospective study from 1st Jan 2007 to
31st Dec 2011(5 Yrs.).
Materials : History, police papers and post mortem
reports
Methods : Analysis of the Medico legal reports of
2463 cases brought for autopsy at the Regional
Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal during the said
period.
16. The widespread commercial utilization of electrical
power has been associated with a rapid increase of
both fatal and non fatal injuries.
In our study, male accounted for 92.30 % of the cases
which is in consistence with the findings of other
workers viz. Sheikhazadi A et al, J Forensic Med Pathol
2010 (96.6%),Wick R et al Med Sci Law 2006 (91%) &
Bharath K et al JIAFM 2012 (91.93%) .
This predominance of males is attributed to more
association of males with electrical appliance and with
its repair much more than their female counterparts.
17. The most common age group in this study was 21-
30 yrs (53.84 %) and electrocution was very rare in
both extremes of ages.
This age group is the most active phase in life
with higher chances of exposure to risk.
Similar finding were also noted by different
workers in different part of the country by
Bharath K et al JIAFM 2012 , Gupta BD et al JIAFM
2012 & Shaha KK Med Sci Law 2010 .
18. Household accidental electrocution (78.06%) i.e. indoor
was observed by Dokov W in Varna Bulgaria Ulus Travma Acil
Cerrahi Derg 2010 .
Similar findings were observed by Byard RW in South
Australia Paediatr Child Health 2003 , Bharath K et al in Andhra
Pradesh JIAFM 2012 , India & B.D Gupta et al in Gujarat, India
JIAFM 2012 .
These findings are in contrast to the findings of our study
where most of the cases occurred outdoors(68%).
This may be attributed to the erratic power supply in the
State (only 2 – 3 hrs/day for domestic consumers) and poor
maintenance of electric cables in this part of the country
starting from using of bad quality wire, breakage which may
remain unattended on the road side leading to accidental
electrocution.
19. 78.06% of the cases were accidental in a study by
Dokov W in Varna, Bulgaria Ulus Travma Acil Cerrahi Derg.
2010 whereas it was 61.86% in another study by Shaha
KK et al in Tamil Nadu, India Med Sci Law 2010 .
Interestingly, in the present series all the cases were
accidental in nature.
20. 60.7% were dead on the scene and 31.9% were dead
on arrival at hospital (Sheikhazadi A et al) Am J
Forensic Med Pathol 2010 .
88% died immediately after the shock (Shaha KK)
Med Sci Law 2010 .
In our study, significant number of victims died
immediately following electric shock (92.30 %)
which may be compared with the findings of Rautji R
wherein 98.03 % died on the scene of the fatal event
and only 1.96 % died in hospital Med Sci Law 2003.
21. 77.77 % of entry wound were in the upper limb and
43.75 % of exit wound in the lower limb by Bharath k
et al JIAFM 2012. Similar findings were observed by
Tirasci Y Tohoku J Exp Med 2006 and Sheikhazadi A et al
Am J Forensic Med Pathol 2010
We also observed that most of the Entry wounds were
on the right hand (48 %) and no entry or exit wounds
were present in 26.92 % .
22. Surprisingly high tension wire was the most common
source of electrocution in our study with 53.85 % and
flash burn was the most common type of electrical
burn seen (60%) which is in sharp contrast to other
studies where the most common source were usually
household electrical appliances (Byard RW Paediatric
Child Health. 2003 , Bharath K et al JIAFM 2012.)
23. Conclusion
The danger of getting electrocuted from the lowly
installed high tension electric wires and haphazardly
fixed up electric supply wire without proper
maintenance in most parts of the State is indeed a
matter of concern.
However, electric supply system has been updated in
the previous year with the installation of underground
cables in some parts of the State and positive changes
are expected in the near future.
