7 eye opening ways meditation can help your personal developmentShivaniKotian2
Meditation is a combination of deep relaxation and awareness. It is a technique for calming the mind and connecting with one's actual self. We grow so engrossed in the complications of our hectic life that we lose touch with our actual nature. Every person possesses an infinite supply of delight. Love is a part of who we are at our core. Our actual Self is love, and meditation, the age-old practise of quiet the mind, is the method to find it. It is the boundless joy and calm that we experience when we meditate, when we sit motionless for a few minutes with ourselves.
Seeing The Light In Our Darkest Moments
Life is a constant roller-coaster of experiences, filled with highs and lows. It's in the nature of existence that we inevitably face periods of darkness and despair. However, it's how we respond to these challenging times that truly defines us. As the renowned Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis once said, "It is in our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light."
The Significance of Darkness
Darkness, in this context, is symbolic of the trials and tribulations we face in life. These could range from personal issues like illness or loss to professional challenges such as job loss or failure in business. The darkness represents the negative emotions that these experiences bring: fear, sadness, frustration, and despair.
However, darkness is not merely a negative aspect of life. It is also a catalyst for change, growth, and transformation. It is during the darkest times that we are pushed out of our comfort zones. This discomfort forces us to confront our fears and insecurities, prompting us to seek solutions and make changes that we may not have considered in times of comfort.
Finding The Light
Finding the light in the darkness is not about denying or escaping the reality of our situation. Rather, it is about finding hope, strength, and positivity amidst the difficulties. It's about shifting our perspective to see beyond the immediate pain and suffering and recognizing the opportunities for growth and learning that these situations present.
The light that Onassis speaks of is the innate resilience and strength within us. It is the courage to face adversity head-on, the wisdom to learn from our experiences, and the determination to overcome challenges. It is our belief in our ability to rise above the situation, regardless of how bleak it may seem.
How To Focus On The Light
Focusing on the light during dark times requires conscious effort and practice. It involves developing a positive mindset, practicing mindfulness, seeking support, and taking care of our physical health. It's about recognizing our emotions, allowing ourselves to feel them, and then choosing to focus on the positive aspects of our situation.
Remember, it's okay to feel down during tough times. It's okay to feel lost and confused. What’s not okay is to let these feelings consume us and prevent us from moving forward. By focusing on the light—the lessons, the opportunities, and the growth—we can navigate through the darkness and emerge stronger and wiser on the other side.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the quote by Aristotle Onassis serves as a powerful reminder of our inner strength and resilience. It encourages us to embrace the darkness, to find the light within it, and to use it to propel us forward. So, the next time you find yourself in a dark place, remember Onassis's words and focus on the light. It is in our darkest moments that we have the greatest opportunity to grow and transform.
Manifestation Power is a personal transformational course designed to help you - or anyone - discover his or her inner desire and passions, and manifest them into reality.

The only criteria is having an open mind and willingness to try.
The principles and strategies take only 10 minutes a day (or less) to do - and after consistent practice, the manifestation of your desires becomes automatic.

Which One Do I Have Anxiety, Depression or Both.pdfResilentMind
It's like you're standing at the entrance of a vast, confusing maze without a map, wondering if the feelings you're experiencing are anxiety, depression, or a tangled mix of both. The journey of distinguishing between the two can be as winding and complex as the feelings themselves. But fear not; this blog aims to offer you a lantern to illuminate your path through the dark corridors of mental health challenges.
The topic of introversion has now entered the mainstream. How can I tell? This topic, which I have championed for so many years (full disclosure: I am an introvert), has now appeared in one of my favorite comic strips, and I honestly don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
I hear it over and over again: “I can’t network. I’m an introvert.” “I don’t know what to say.” “I don’t want to brag.” A lot of people don’t like networking, but the bulk of them seem to be introverts.
Social Confidence and “Extrovert Skills”Lynette Crane
“I used my extrovert skills.” “I had to learn some extrovert skills.” “Oh, well, I don’t have extrovert skills.” I hear these phrases all the time – and they drive me crazy.
Holding on to your identity during a transitionLynette Crane
Transitions – in life or in career – are tough. One of the hardest parts is the seeming attack on your identity when you no longer fill a given role, a role you may have played for years, even decades. People who have had to change careers for physical or health reasons, retirees from work to which they have dedicated years of their lives, mothers whose children have grown up and fled the nest, all struggle with this identity crisis.
Everyone tells you that you must have a clear vision of where you want to go and who you want to be. Not everyone tells you exactly how – and how not – to get to that vision.
Time and energy bandits are habits and thought processes that can suck you dry, leaving you exhausted and harried. One of these bandits, which particularly rears its head at the holiday season, is perfectionism.
A friend and I took a lovely paddleboat ride on the Mississippi River one day, past old crumbling brick walls backed by sparkling new skyscrapers, learning a lot of history that we had never heard. The good time almost didn’t happen, due to a careless mistake on my part. That mistake did trigger some thoughts about small stresses in life, which in turn triggered this article.
Can an introvert have an exciting life and surviveLynette Crane
Performers are, surprisingly often, introverts, because performing provides a perfect platform for an introvert. A performance usually involves a structured situation with behavior that is well-rehearsed; furthermore, we can usually perform without those interruptions that force us to freeze or think too quickly, that we encounter in social situations. Many of us even learned that we could pour out our feelings and enthusiasm with a feeling of safety we never found daily life.
The Yin, Yang and Dopamine in RelationshipsLynette Crane
Some people like to linger until the very end of a party; others like to leave early.
Unfortunately, they frequently marry each other.
They may very well have met and been attracted to each other because of these opposite qualities: one represents tranquility, stability, and caution, the other one represents excitement, change, and risk-taking.
Hans Selye, known as the “Father of Stress,” coined the term “eustress” in 1926. It means, literally, “good stress.” Is there such a thing? You bet there is.
Is tech stress driving you screaming madLynette Crane
It’s official (in case you hadn’t already noticed): technology is raising our stress level precipitously.
In fact, Mike Kushner, co-owner of a computer solutions company in Palo Alto, California, has paramedics ready to respond to calls from what he calls the “digitally desperate.”
Have you ever been caught in a race that never ends: one in which the big prize at the end is as far out of reach as it is when you started, and the small rewards along the way that might sustain you have gotten to be scarcer and scarcer? Perhaps the big prize no longer seems enticing, or even appropriate, but you’ve been so busy you haven’t even noticed its allure fading.
What is life was a multiple choice test?Lynette Crane
If life was a multiple choice test, would you always pick the same answer? “Let’s see, it’s choice B. Guess I’ll go with that all the way.”
At least in a real multiple choice test, you can see all choices – usually four – laid out and you may even ponder them before you mark your choice.
In my last article, “Watch who you share your pain with,” I described several kinds of people who only make your pain worse by saying the wrong things. I call them, collectively, Dementors, familiar to Harry Potter fans as creatures who suck all hope out of you. They may magnify your tiny symptom into sure death, or seemingly provide incontrovertible evidence that your dreams can never succeed.
Are you carrying some introvert baggage?Lynette Crane
The basic definition of an introvert is of someone who is very sensitive to external stimulation and needs to withdraw periodically because our energy is depleted by too much stimulation, whereas an extrovert is someone who goes out and seeks stimulation, often social stimulation, in order to be energized.
Can you go back and change the past, or are you stuck with what you remember? That’s the key: what you remember. The fact is, our brains are stuffed with memories, only some of which we retrieve, convincing ourselves we have a true and complete picture of the past when in fact we have a partial, often negative, picture of our history.
I meet people all the time who don’t really understand virtual learning, and are therefore wary of signing up for anything that is presented in this way.
Do you feel as if you have invisible gnats buzzing around inside and outside of your head? Are you so overwhelmed by possibilities that you start to work on one task, then set it down and switch your attention to another, and then another?

Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!
New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

Hemodialysis: Chapter 3, Dialysis Water Unit - Dr.Gawad
A New Year, a New Life
1. A ew Year, a ew Life
January is the time of fresh starts, fresh ideas,
and an urge to create a new, better life.Often, we
start out with high hopes, only to sink by
February 1 as if the balloon carrying our hopes
had been punctured.
We need a plan, a roadmap if you will, that we
can follow, that will provide us with a vision, a
plan, and benchmarks that help us say to
ourselves, “Yes, I am moving towards what I
desire.”
Here is my roadmap to creating a new, exciting life:
Calmness: Well-being is essential to calmness, the well-being that comes of being prepared to meet
life. After all, if you were going to the Olympics, would you arrive sleep-deprived, stuffed with
fattening, non-energy generating food, and expect to win a gold medal? Seriously?
And you will need calmness to proceed to the next step:
Clarity: A calm mind is essential to achieving clarity, and the ability to slow down, separate
distraction from relaxation, and be alone with your thoughts is central to achieving clarity.
Meditation for an hour or so at a time is not necessary; clarity and calmness of mind can be
achieved by becoming aware of the key points during your day when it is important to sit back,
breathe, and think.
When switching tasks or moving from one environment to another (even from one room to
another), train yourself to pause, let go of what you have just been doing or thinking, and reflect on
what you will need for the next task or in the next environment.
Confidence: Not just a state of mind, confidence is a feeling that is associated with having a skill
that meets the demands of the situation, and with knowing you have that skill. Peak performers in
every area of life experience real stress before they perform. They rely on the automatic
performance of well-practiced skills to see them through.
Whether your scary event is public speaking, ski jumping, forging terrific relationships, or selling
your pet project, there is a plan that an expert has developed that can get you there.
Look for an expert who is willing to share step-by-step experience, not just hearty assurances that
you are worthy or powerful. They’re out there, those experts.
Courage: Even with calmness, clarity, and confident skills, it can still feel a little frightening to
push back at barriers. Believe it or not, courage too is a skill mastered by experts in risk-taking.
2. Truly brave people know that they will be anxious, and that they will suffer setbacks. A setback
suggests that there is another path to get to where you want to go; failure suggests finality. The brave
set out anyway, using the occasion of a setback to sit back, reflect, and find another way.
Creation: Life is not just about rushing towards one goal; it is about reaching a goal only to have
another one appear. This second goal will require you go through the same steps, in the same
sequence: cultivate calmness, achieve clarity, master confident skills, and be brave enough to take
the small risks to get you there.
Whatever your personal goal for 2014 – increased exercise, decreased weight, better organization of
clutter, more recognition of your abilities – having a roadmap will keep you on track to get there.
