A new way of working.
The ability to collaborate—across functional boundaries, time zones or even beyond
organizational borders—is becoming an ever more critical determinant of success. In
Exlusive Insights, a short introduction of the DIGO Collaboration Approach.
The DIGO Approach from Digodrone.
Digodrone make use of the DIGO Collaboration
Approach (abbreviation DCA), an approach
invented and introduced by the Dutch Co-
founder of Digodrone. The DCA approach is
nowadays adopted by other collaboration
communities in Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Pune
India.
Digodrone builds software applications and
prototypes using the DIGO Collaboration
Approach (DCA).
Digodrone comprises of a group of developers
working extensively in a cloud based
environment, which makes it possible for them
to work with people globally. The main core of
the community is located in Shenzhen China.
Digodrone is a community driven by
knowledge, and with the goal of increasing
technological knowledge, rather than profit. One
of the slogans of Digodrone is: “Don’t follow the
money, the money will follow you.” It seems
like a controversial point of view.
Every member can start his own project. Other
members can come on board when they believe
in the feasibility of this project. A new project
group has been formed. Members can work
together on different projects at the same time.
A project will be split off into separate parallel
tasks, and divided into different disciplines.
Each project will be evaluated at least three
times a week by all members. Each member can
rank the different projects independently, based
on criteria that are determined to be important.
This enables the members to see clearly which
projects are the most important, and to place
their focus on them.
When a project has succeeded, it will be
released as a small scale spin-off, or it can be
incorporated into another project, or placed at
the virtual shelf as a so-called “knowledge brick”
for future use. A successful finalized project is
called a “DIGO”. A finalized project gets a name
with the prefix “DIGO”. As an axample:
DIGOStream, DIGOImages, DIGOShare,
DIGODrone, etc.
Most applications are not released to the public,
but instead wait for the next step.

A flat structured organization
The DCA consists of a flat structured
organization. The members will be directly
involved in the decision making process.
DCA communities are more cohesive, creative,
and innovative than the so-called “top down”
hierarchical organizations, where an idea and
approach is raised by one (or a few) brain(s),
instead of all brains.
The pillar that supports the DCA is the Cloud
Collaboration Platform which has been
developed by the software developers from
Digodrone.
It’s a virtual office in the cloud which has all
tools like File Sharing, Chat, VOIP
teleconference, email, video streaming, Task
planner, etc.
Developers can strengthen the DCA platform by developing and sharing themselves with other
project groups, thereby broadening their knowledge about software and hardware development, and
thus enhancing quality.
