This document proposes a new scalable key management scheme for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) using unital design theory. Existing key pre-distribution schemes suffer from low scalability or degraded performance metrics like storage overhead and resiliency for large networks. The proposed scheme aims to enhance scalability without degrading other metrics. It introduces a naive mapping from unital design to key pre-distribution showing high scalability. It also proposes an enhanced unital-based scheme maintaining good key sharing probability while further improving scalability. Analysis shows the approach outperforms existing schemes in criteria like storage overhead, scalability, and resiliency.

Security Model for Hierarchical Clustered Wireless Sensor NetworksCSCJournals
The proposed security system for the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is based on the WSN security design goal that ‘to design a completely secure WSN, security must be integrated into every node of the system’. This paper discusses on two main components of the security framework viz. the secure key management module and the secure routing scheme. The incorporation of security mechanism during the routing protocol design phase is the main focus of this paper. The proposed security framework viz. ‘Secure and Hierarchical, a Routing Protocol’ (SHARP) is designed for the wireless sensor network applications which is deployed particularly for data collection purpose in a battlefield where the security aspect of the network cannot be compromised at any cost. SHARP consists of three basic integrated modules and each module performs a well defined task to make the whole security framework a complete system on its own.

Secure and Trustable Routing in WSN for End to End CommunicationIJMTST Journal
In WSNs, end-to-end data communication security is required to combine data from source to destination. Combined data are transmitted in a path exist of connected links. All previous end to end routing protocols propose solutions in which each n every link uses a pair wise shared key to protect data. In this paper, we propose a novel design of secure end to end data communication. We give a newly published group key pre distribution scheme in this design, such that there is a unique group key, called path key, to protect data transmitted in the whole routing path. Specifically, instead of using several pair wise shared keys to repeatedly perform encryption and decryption over every link, our proposed scheme uses a unique source to destination path key to protect data transmitted over the path. Our proposed protocol can authenticate sensors to establish the path and to establish the path key. The main advantage using our protocol is to reduce the time needed to process data by middle sensors. Moreover, our proposed authentication scheme has complexity O(n), where n is the number of sensors in a communication path, which is several from all authentication schemes till now, which are one-to-one authentications with complexity O(n2). The security of the protocol is computationally secure. Active Trust can importantly improve the data route success probability and ability opposite black hole attacks and can optimize network lifetime.
Study Of Coded Based Mechanism In WSN SystemIJERA Editor
Wireless Sensor networks (WSN) is an emerging technology and have great potential to be employed in critical
situations like battlefields and commercial applications such as building, traffic surveillance, habitat monitoring
and smart homes and many more scenarios. One of the major challenges wireless sensor networks face today is
QoS. In order to ensure data security and quality of service required by an application in an energy efficient
way, we propose a mechanism for QoS routing with coding and selective encryption scheme for WSNs.Our
approach provides reliable and secure data transmission and can adapt to the resource constraints of WSNs.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have recently attracted a lot of interest in the research community due their wide range of applications. Due to distributed and deployed in a un attend environment, these are vulnerable to numerous security threats. In this paper, describe the design and implementation of public-key-(PK)-based protocols that allow authentication and session key establishment between a sensor network and a third party. WSN have limitations on computational capacity, battery etc which provides scope for challenging problems. We fundamentally focused on the security issue of WSNs The proposed protocol is efficient and secure in compared to other public key based protocols in WSNs.

A highly scalable key pre distribution scheme for wireless sensor networks
1. A Highly Scalable Key Pre-Distribution Scheme for Wireless
Sensor Networks
ABSTRACT:
Given the sensitivity of the potential WSN applications and because of resource
limitations, key management emerges as a challenging issue for WSNs. One of the
main concerns when designing a key management scheme is the network
scalability. Indeed, the protocol should support a large number of nodes to enable a
large scale deployment of the network. In this paper, we propose a new scalable
key management scheme for WSNs which provides a good secure connectivity
coverage. For this purpose, we make use of the unital design theory. We show that
the basic mapping from unitals to key pre-distribution allows us to achieve high
network scalability. Nonetheless, this naive mapping does not guarantee a high key
sharing probability. Therefore, we propose an enhanced unital-based key pre-
distribution scheme providing high network scalability and good key sharing
probability approximately lower bounded by 1 − e 0.632. We conduct
approximate analysis and simulations and compare our solution to those of existing
methods for different criteria such as storage overhead, network scalability,
network connectivity, average secure path length and network resiliency. Our
results show that the proposed approach enhances the network scalability while
providing high secure connectivity coverage and overall improved performance.
2. Moreover, for an equal network size, our solution reduces significantly the storage
overhead compared to those of existing solutions.
EXISTING SYSTEM:
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are increasingly used in critical applications
within several fields including military, medical and industrial sectors. Given the
sensitivity of these applications, sophisticated security services are required. Key
management is a corner stone for many security services such as confidentiality
and authentication which are required to secure communications in WSNs. The
establishment of secure links between nodes is then a challenging problem in
WSNs. Because of resource limitations, symmetric key establishment is one of the
most suitable paradigms for securing exchanges in WSNs. On the other hand,
because of the lack of infrastructure in WSNs, we have usually no trusted third
party which can attribute pair wise secret keys to neighboring nodes, that is why
most existing solutions are based on key pre-distribution.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM:
A host of research work dealt with symmetric key pre-distribution issue for WSNs
and many solutions have been proposed In the existing system many disadvantages
occur: the design of key rings (blocks of keys) is strongly related to the network
3. size, these solutions either suffer from low scalability (number of supported
nodes), or degrade other performance metrics including secure connectivity,
storage overhead and resiliency in the case of large networks.
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
In this proposed system, our aim is to tackle the scalability issue without degrading
the other network performance metrics. For this purpose, we target the design of a
scheme which ensures a good secure coverage of large scale networks with a low
key storage overhead and a good network resiliency. To this end, we make use, of
the unital design theory for efficient WSN key pre-distribution.
ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM:
The advantages of the proposed system as follows:
We propose a naive mapping from unital design to key pre-distribution and
we show through analytical analysis that it allows to achieve high
scalability.
We propose an enhanced unitalbased key pre-distribution scheme that
maintains a good key sharing probability while enhancing the network
scalability.
4. We analyze and compare our new approach against main existing schemes,
with respect to different criteria: storage overhead, energy consumption,
network scalability, secure connectivity coverage, average secure path
length and network resiliency.
