Mobile Apps For Events: Adoption and LongevityCvent
Smartphone adoption is growing faster than any technology has in the last 30 years. With the average person looking at their smartphone over 150 times per day, it's no surprise that mobile is changing the Event Industry as we know it. Event planners all over the world are using mobile apps to reach their annual goals. Savvy planners, though, are maximizing the adoption of mobile apps to increase the impact and longevity of their events.

Businesses require access to information 24/7 and can't afford to miss a beat — or a call — when it comes to closing new opportunities. Whether at the office, a client site or elsewhere, employees need to be at the ready. Powerful, flexible and secure mobile tools that suit the unique needs of the business are critical to working smarter, not harder.
Smartphones like the Galaxy Note8, with its large screen, built-in S Pen and multitasking features, are ideal for enabling SMBs to boost productivity and help employees be more impactful and efficient in everything they do — without breaking the bank.
Here's five ways the Galaxy Note8 can help you and your team:
#1. Leave the laptop behind, on purpose
#2. Never miss a business opportunity
#3. Capture and act on ideas faster
#4. Secure your business data
#5. Plan your mobile initiative carefully
A successful mobile initiative takes careful planning. By making smart choices upfront, you'll save yourself complications down the road and reduce the total cost of ownership for your business. Taking advantaging of device and service plan deals is a great start, but also look for partners who can provide guidance, support and resources to help you be successful with mobile.

Accelerate Mobile Success with a Mobile Center of ExcellenceXamarin
From streamlining employee activities to providing customers access to your business anywhere and any time, mobile is a crucial driver in transforming the enterprise. A successful mobile program is critical in order to innovate in your business and remain competitive for your customers, but going mobile presents numerous challenges to the enterprise that can force long delivery cycles and costly projects. An incomplete mobile strategy that is executed without proper governance and delivery framework will impair your mobile programs.
What does it take to be successful with your mobile strategy? How can you navigate the multiple stages involved in creating a mobile app? How do you apply best practices and reduce maintenance costs on apps? And, lastly, how do you scale your mobile initiatives to dozens or potentially hundreds of apps across your enterprise?

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

Shock or Disbelief: The iPhone will never be an Enterprise capable device. It will always be a toy.Denial: No, I do have an iPhone, but it’s my personal device. I still carry a BlackBerry for work.Anger: Why do all these people think they should just be able to use iPhones/Androids. They will use what we give them or nothing at all!Bargaining: OK, fine, you can use that device, but it has to adhere to these policies AND it’s your responsibility AND we’re not officially supporting it, so don’t ask us any questions about getting it workingGuilt: What have we done, we’ve let all these insecure devices into our corporate networkDepression: I don’t know how we’re going to manage this army of devices, different versions of software, people losing devices, etc.Acceptance and Hope: There are some really great benefits to BYOD, if we can harness some of the security challenges, this thing might really work out for us----- Meeting Notes (4/15/13 14:11) -----Make these slides build 1 at a time
