A Day Without A Mexican
In this movie it had all the Latinos in California disappear. Once all of them were gone
the California residents didn’t know what to do. They didn’t know what to do because the
Latinos did most of the jobs they didn’t, for example 20% of the teachers were gone so schools
closed, construction stalled since most of the workers were Latino, the Streets became a mess
since the people who picked up the trash were Latino. Many people lost loved ones once they
disappeared.
The movie’s point was to show how much the Latinos mean to society. It also showed
different points of view from people on immigration. The movie makes you think about what if
the Latinos were to all leave America and how it would affect you. The movie also debunks
certain thoughts about Latinos in America, like all they do is use welfare and not pay taxes.
Latinos generate $100 million in revenue in California, while only using $3 million in welfare.
