Once upon a time there lived a crow in the
forest and he was absolutely satisfied in
life. But one day he saw a swan. He said to
himself, “This swan is so white and I am so
black. This swan must be the happiest bird
in the world.”

The crow expressed his thoughts to the
swan. The swan said, “ I thought I was the
happiest bird around until I saw a most
pretty parrot. The parrot has beautiful
feathers of different colors. My body is just
plain white. I now think the parrot is the
happiest bird in creation.”

The crow then flew away and approached the parrot. He
explained to the parrot why he was not happy. He said,
“The swan told me you must be the most beautiful
and happy creature on earth.”
The parrot said sadly, “I lived a very happy life until I saw a
peacock. I have only a few colors, but the peacock has
multiple colors. He is incredibly beautiful and he must be
the most happy creature.

The crow then flew to visit a peacock in the zoo. He saw
that hundreds of people had gathered to see the
peacock. After the people had left, the crow approached
the peacock. He said, “Dear Peacock, you are so really
beautiful. Every day thousands of people come to see
you. When people see me, they shoo me away; some
throw stones at me. I think you are the most beautiful
and the happiest creature on the planet.”
Oh Peacock! You
are so beautiful!

The peacock replied sadly, “I used to think that I was the most
beautiful and happy bird in the world. But you know, I am
entrapped in this zoo like a prisoner because of my beauty. I
have no freedom. I am just used to earn money for people. I
have looked at various birds in the zoo and I have realized that
the crow is the only bird not kept in a cage or enclosure. So I
have been thinking that if I were a crow, I could happily roam
everywhere. You are very lucky Mr. Crow!”

Moral of The Story
Don’t compare yourself with others.
Be happy with who you are and what you have.

2 Everyone has his strengths and weaknesses.
3 Accept yourself positively. Just do your best.
4 True beauty and happiness lie within you. Develop the mind.
5 Character and a good wise mind are of utmost importance.
