Who Wants to Be Governor?
Although his approval ratings are in the
60s, we’re starting to hear some
questions as to whether Governor Eric
Holcomb will run for re-election. It’s
not that he can’t win. We did some
polling in our LNG capacity and none of
his potential challengers come close.
From what we hear though, some folks
have been dropping hints in his ear
about new challenges should
Republicans keep the White House in
2020. The job we keep hearing popping
up is U.S. Ambassador to Italy. It
would not be the first time Holcomb’s
name was mentioned for that job.
If he doesn’t decide to run, the leading
contender, of course, would be Lt.
Governor Suzanne Crouch. We do
know the Monica the Hutt crowd is
looking for a candidate to take on
Holcomb. They and their allies have
been making a lot of noise over possible
hate crimes legislation and they want to
recruit someone to run in 2020.
Another name that keeps surfacing, not
as a Republican but as a possible
Libertarian is my fellow radio
broadcaster, Rob Kendall. Hey, we
don’t make this stuff up, we just report
back what we hear.

House Democrats Split
Over Hill Impeachment
We hear that despite three members of their
caucus planning to sponsor impeachment
legislation against Indiana Attorney General
Curtis Hill, the Indiana House
Democrats are split over whether to go
forward and a number of them reportedly
want Republicans to kill such the measure
should it pop up. This should not surprise
anyone, we told you months ago that the
Democrats were divided on this and several
of them reportedly don’t believe their fellow
House member who accused Hill of
inappropriate touching.
And while we’re on the subject, the lawsuit
Hill’s accusers plan to file might never see
the light of day. As part of their complaint,
the four women are alleging harassment and
employment retaliation. However, in the
report put together for the legislative
leadership, the attorneys found that the sine
die party was not a work-related function so
this puts the women in direct contradiction,
legally speaking, with House and Senate
leadership. Stay tuned.

And speaking of House Democrats,
apparently it was state Rep. Ed Delaney,
our sources tell us, who reportedly
engineered the removal of Terry Goodin
as Minority Leader and replacing him with
Phil GiaQuinta.
Democrats and Donnelly
Remember how we told you in our LNG
capacity, that part of the reason why Joe
Donnelly lost the U.S. Senate race is that
Democrats didn’t show up. We now we
have more empirical data to back that up.
Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson
recently released a report on voter turnout.
The average turnout was 51 percent. And in
the major Democrat stronghold counties,
the voters didn’t turn out the way they did
in Republican counties. Here’s a quick
rundown
 Marion - 48%
 Lake - 47%
 Monroe - 54%
 St. Joseph - 47 %
 Tippacanoe - 47%
 Boone - 56%
 Hamilton - 58%
 Hendricks - 56%
 Porter - 53%
The conventional wisdom is that had
turnout in Democrat counties been
proportionate to Republicans, Donnelly
would have likely won, albeit by a narrow
margin.

A Few Other Items of Note
Hamilton County Republicans
recently had a come to Jesus meeting
over last month’s election results.
Although Republicans won, the margins
were a lot closer than what they were
comfortable with and Chairwoman
Laura Campbell reportedly warned
them they could no longer take
Hamilton County for granted and the
days of assuming that if you won the
primary, you automatically won the
general election were over and they need
to start rethinking their strategy.
Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard may be
getting a primary challenge. Someone
has been polling and one of the
questions involved whether a voter
would be more or less likely to vote for
Brainard if they knew he had been
involved in accidents while driving city-
owned vehicles.
We hear Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness
is getting a primary challenge. The
name we saw was Logan Day, a
spokesman for “Save the Nickel Plate”
which has been at odds with the town
over the Nickel Plate rail line.
Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett is
reportedly looking at asking lawmakers
to create a regional taxing authority that
would address local road funding.
Look for several Indianapolis City-
County Councilors to have primary
opponents, most of them are along the
38th street corridor.
Outgoing Wayne Township Trustee
Andy Harris, who lost to Republican
Chuck Jones, is reportedly getting
ready to run next year for the Council
seat being vacated by Marilyn
Pfisterer.
Despite some significant concerns with
his police department, we’re told Elkhart
Mayor Tim Neese is expected to
announce his re-election bid.
U.S. Senator-elect Mike Braun has
reportedly made two key appointments
to his staff, Josh Kelley will take over
as Chief of Staff, and we hear Jason
Johnson of the Corydon Group has
been tapped to be State Director.
Democratic State Senator JD Ford is
going to have a steep learning curve
when he joined his colleagues in
January. Although Ford is a freshman
Senator, he’s been appointed Ranking
Minority Member of the Senate
Commerce & Technology Committee,
the Elections Committee, Family and
Children Services, and Utilities.

There is a movement afoot in
Vanderberg County to remove Wayne
Park as County GOP Chairman. We
hear there have been a lot of issues
lately with his leadership and he won’t
step down voluntarily.
Look for a new book to come out in
January regarding Vice-President
Mike Pence. The book, “The Faith of
Mike Pence” was written by Leslie
Montgomery, with the full participation
of the Pence family.
Joshua Marsh, age 25, is announcing
today that he is running for Mayor of
Greensburg. If elected he would be one
of the youngest mayors in Indiana
history. Frankfort Mayor Chris
Barnes was 23 when he won the
primary in 2011.
Political Props
Congrats to our good friend and fellow
pundit Adam Wren (Importantville)
on the birth of his daughter.
Props to our friend and political
strategist Robert Vane for handling
the media and messaging for the
successful IPS referendum.
Kudos to Allyson Claybourn, for her
win on the Newburgh Town Council, in a
place that went 60 percent for
Republicans, she got 58 percent of the
vote as a Democrat.
Congrats to Political activist and Indiana
Issues panelist Jamar Cobb-Dennard
on his marriage to his lovely new wife,
Jessie.

Keep This One On Your
Radar Screen
We keep hearing there is another
#MeToo scandal out there, except you
won’t find this one near Capitol and
Washington, but instead Washington
and Delaware. We are devoting a lot of
time over the next few weeks to find out
exactly what’s going on. Hopefully, we'll
have something by the first of the year,
so stay tuned.

Although his approval ratings are in the 60s, we’re starting to hear some questions as to whether Governor Eric Holcomb will run for re-election. It’s not that he can’t win. We did some polling in our LNG capacity and none of his potential challengers come close. From what we hear though, some folks have been dropping hints in his ear about new challenges should Republicans keep the White House in 2020. The job we keep hearing popping up is U.S. Ambassador to Italy. It would not be the first time Holcomb’s name was mentioned for that job. If he doesn’t decide to run, the leading contender, of course, would be Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch. We do know the Monica the Hutt crowd is looking for a candidate to take on Holcomb. They and their allies have been making a lot of noise over possible hate crimes legislation and they want to recruit someone to run in 2020. Another name that keeps surfacing, not as a Republican but as a possible Libertarian is my fellow radio broadcaster, Rob Kendall. Hey, we don’t make this stuff up, we just report back what we hear.

This should not surprise anyone, we told you months ago that the Democrats were divided on this and several of them reportedly don’t believe their fellow House member who accused Hill of inappropriate touching. And while we’re on the subject, the lawsuit Hill’s accusers plan to file might never see the light of day. As part of their complaint, the four women are alleging harassment and employment retaliation. However, in the report put together for the legislative leadership, the attorneys found that the sine die party was not a work-related function so this puts the women in direct contradiction, legally speaking, with House and Senate leadership. Stay tuned.

Ed Delaney, our sources tell us, who reportedly engineered the removal of Terry Goodin as Minority Leader and replacing him with Phil GiaQuinta. Democrats and Donnelly Remember how we told you in our LNG capacity, that part of the reason why Joe Donnelly lost the U.S. Senate race is that Democrats didn’t show up. We now we have more empirical data to back that up. Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson recently released a report on voter turnout. The average turnout was 51 percent. And in the major Democrat stronghold counties, the voters didn’t turn out the way they did in Republican counties. Here’s a quick rundown  Marion - 48%  Lake - 47%  Monroe - 54%  St. Joseph - 47 %  Tippacanoe - 47%  Boone - 56%  Hamilton - 58%  Hendricks - 56%  Porter - 53% The conventional wisdom is that had turnout in Democrat counties been proportionate to Republicans, Donnelly would have likely won, albeit by a narrow margin.

Although Republicans won, the margins were a lot closer than what they were comfortable with and Chairwoman Laura Campbell reportedly warned them they could no longer take Hamilton County for granted and the days of assuming that if you won the primary, you automatically won the general election were over and they need to start rethinking their strategy. Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard may be getting a primary challenge. Someone has been polling and one of the questions involved whether a voter would be more or less likely to vote for Brainard if they knew he had been involved in accidents while driving city- owned vehicles. We hear Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness is getting a primary challenge. The name we saw was Logan Day, a spokesman for “Save the Nickel Plate” which has been at odds with the town over the Nickel Plate rail line. Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett is reportedly looking at asking lawmakers to create a regional taxing authority that would address local road funding. Look for several Indianapolis City- County Councilors to have primary opponents, most of them are along the 38th street corridor. Outgoing Wayne Township Trustee Andy Harris, who lost to Republican Chuck Jones, is reportedly getting ready to run next year for the Council seat being vacated by Marilyn Pfisterer. Despite some significant concerns with his police department, we’re told Elkhart Mayor Tim Neese is expected to announce his re-election bid. U.S. Senator-elect Mike Braun has reportedly made two key appointments to his staff, Josh Kelley will take over as Chief of Staff, and we hear Jason Johnson of the Corydon Group has been tapped to be State Director. Democratic State Senator JD Ford is going to have a steep learning curve when he joined his colleagues in January. Although Ford is a freshman Senator, he’s been appointed Ranking Minority Member of the Senate Commerce & Technology Committee, the Elections Committee, Family and Children Services, and Utilities.

We hear there have been a lot of issues lately with his leadership and he won’t step down voluntarily. Look for a new book to come out in January regarding Vice-President Mike Pence. The book, “The Faith of Mike Pence” was written by Leslie Montgomery, with the full participation of the Pence family. Joshua Marsh, age 25, is announcing today that he is running for Mayor of Greensburg. If elected he would be one of the youngest mayors in Indiana history. Frankfort Mayor Chris Barnes was 23 when he won the primary in 2011. Political Props Congrats to our good friend and fellow pundit Adam Wren (Importantville) on the birth of his daughter. Props to our friend and political strategist Robert Vane for handling the media and messaging for the successful IPS referendum. Kudos to Allyson Claybourn, for her win on the Newburgh Town Council, in a place that went 60 percent for Republicans, she got 58 percent of the vote as a Democrat. Congrats to Political activist and Indiana Issues panelist Jamar Cobb-Dennard on his marriage to his lovely new wife, Jessie.
