This document presents a comparative study of various methods for evaluating impedance functions of shallow foundations, focusing on techniques such as Barkan, Dominguez, Dobry, and Gazetas. It discusses the impact of stiffness and radiation damping on the dynamic interaction between soil and structures, highlighting the limitations of each method, particularly in assessing torsional stiffness and embedded foundations. The study concludes that while methods exhibit similar trends, the Gazetas approach is most comprehensive and applicable for both surface and embedded foundations.
