The frequency with which people experience private sexual pleasure seems to be positively correlated with how frequently they seek shared sex.

Most sexual behavior problems must be delineated within the context of the individual's personality, lifestyle, and relationships with others. It is usually simplistic to label any particular behavior automatically as a problem. Several criteria are given that can be used to define sexual problems and that can help put problematic sex into a more realistic and sensible perspective. Determining when a sexual preference behavior becomes a problem is highly subjective and requires a look into different aspects of an individual's life, including his or her lifestyle and cultural and social belief systems. Sexual abuse, coercion, and assault of others represent serious sexual problems (Kelly, 2015).
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and a variety of other medical conditions can affect the sex organs and sexual activity. Whereas STDs once were discussed only briefly in most human sexuality courses, they are emerging as important issues again. Considering that the incidence of several diseases is on the rise, and that more organisms are being recognized as being capable of sexual transmission, such a trend may be timely. One of the most significant findings of the National Health and Social Life Survey (NHSLS) was the direct correlation between the numbers of sexual partners people have had and the likelihood that they will have had a STD (National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, 1992).
Defining sexual dysfunctions is somewhat subjective, and individual differences in the sexual response cycle are often perfectly normal. Discussion: Sociological Theories
The sociological approach examines underlying social conditions that may influence criminal behavior by focusing on how social structure and processes contribute to crime. Two of the basic sociological theories are consensus theory and life course criminology. Consensus theory asserts that criminal laws and their enforcement reflect the values and concerns of the majority of people in a society. Life course criminology focuses on life trajectories or paths that may lead to lifelong or repeat criminal behavior. There are many other theories associated with the sociological approach to understanding and explaining criminal behavior; however, some theories might be more applicable than others.

The author used the prose form of writing, in which the article has paragraphs only, but no sections. While there is a flow of ideas, this essay is not easy to read because of the extensive writing, which makes the reader feel overloaded with information. In addition to that, the document does not have any chronology of events, and the author does not state how he intends to write his ideas.
The central claim of this article is the fact that many people confuse human races. He holds that “race” is a biological aspect of variations in the human species, but the world takes it for a social construct of classifying people.
Lewontin holds that “As a biological construct rather than a social one, people cease to see “race” as a significant reality that characterizes the species of humans.”

Summary: Lewontin’s Confusions about Human Races is a reminder to the people about the concept of human race. Lewontin argues that researchers and scholars produce many objective natural divisions confirming that racial categories are representations of genetic differences and not social or historical factors. He uses Leroi Armand Marie’s essay in the Op-Ed section of The New York Times - March 14, 2005, as evidence for his argument. Lewontin adds that Leroi’s work points out the confusion about the factors of racial categorization as well as the recent erroneous deductions about the relevance of such identifications of the race for medical practice.
The author holds the four facts about the variation of humans upon which the world seems to agree are the ultimate evidence for the understanding of race as a biological concept. First, the species of human have immense variations of genetics from one individual to another. Second, the largest chunk of human variation (nearly 85 percent) is a representation of people within local linguistic or national populations. Examples include the French, Mexican, and Japanese. Third, some genetic traits such as skin color, the form of hair, shape of the nose, and some blood proteins like the Rhesus, vary together such that people with dark skin color are also likely to have dark, curled hair, broad noses, and a high likelihood of Rh blood type. Fourth, the genetic differences break down due to rampant migration and intergroup mating; although, it existed in the past, it is now widespread at a high rate.

Most sexual behavior problems must be delineated within the context of the individual's personality, lifestyle, and relationships with others. It is usually simplistic to label any particular behavior automatically as a problem. Several criteria are given that can be used to define sexual problems and that can help put problematic sex into a more realistic and sensible perspective. Determining when a sexual preference behavior becomes a problem is highly subjective and requires a look into different aspects of an individual's life, including his or her lifestyle and cultural and social belief systems. Sexual abuse, coercion, and assault of others represent serious sexual problems (Kelly, 2015).

Whereas STDs once were discussed only briefly in most human sexuality courses, they are emerging as important issues again. One of the most significant findings of the National Health and Social Life Survey (NHSLS) was the direct correlation between the numbers of sexual partners people have had and the likelihood that they will have had a STD (National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, 1992).

American prisons have a disparate number of minority inmates in their populations. Is this trend due to a higher rate of minority crimes or the manner in which the judicial system operates? Research the possible answers, and defend a single cause of this disparity.
Many people have questioned the fairness of the United States’ criminal justice system. This is because of the high number of black inmates in the United States’ prisons despite the fact that they are the minority group. This scenario has led to many scholars and observers questioning the handling of cases regarding blacks. Some argue that the whites should be the majority in these prisons since they are also the majority group. The following annotated bibliographies are going to look into this issue in order to find out what is the cause of this situation.

According to Boothe, war on drugs is believed to be the major factors in leading to the increased number of blacks in the United States’ prisons. This is because of the high chances of a person convicted for handling drugs ending up in prison, especially blacks. This is because of the notion that blacks were the perpetrators of these activities in the United States.
This is an important source as it outlines the inequality in the way drug cases involving blacks and whites are handled. For instance, many whites involved in drug cases for the first time are usually put on probation. This is unlike the blacks who are given sentences directly as they are viewed to be harmful to the society.

According to Clear, the United States’ prisons are operated at the federal and state level. These levels depend on the nature of crimes that the convicts did. However, in both prisons, majority of the prisoners are blacks.
The high number of black inmates in these prisons is an indicator that there is something wrong with the United States’ criminal justice systems. This makes this book an important source of information on my topic. I therefore plan to use to derive important information on the disparities being experienced in American courts.

Discussion: Sociological Theories
The sociological approach examines underlying social conditions that may influence criminal behavior by focusing on how social structure and processes contribute to crime. Two of the basic sociological theories are consensus theory and life course criminology. Consensus theory asserts that criminal laws and their enforcement reflect the values and concerns of the majority of people in a society. Life course criminology focuses on life trajectories or paths that may lead to lifelong or repeat criminal behavior. There are many other theories associated with the sociological approach to understanding and explaining criminal behavior; however, some theories might be more applicable than others.

The author used the prose form of writing, in which the article has paragraphs only, but no sections. While there is a flow of ideas, this essay is not easy to read because of the extensive writing, which makes the reader feel overloaded with information. In addition to that, the document does not have any chronology of events, and the author does not state how he intends to write his ideas.
The central claim of this article is the fact that many people confuse human races. He holds that “race” is a biological aspect of variations in the human species, but the world takes it for a social construct of classifying people.
Lewontin holds that “As a biological construct rather than a social one, people cease to see “race” as a significant reality that characterizes the species of humans.”

Summary: Lewontin’s Confusions about Human Races is a reminder to the people about the concept of human race. Widely touted as a social construct, “race” is a biological concept that outlines the realities that characterize the human species. Lewontin argues that researchers and scholars produce many objective natural divisions confirming that racial categories are representations of genetic differences and not social or historical factors. He uses Leroi Armand Marie’s essay in the Op-Ed section of The New York Times - March 14, 2005, as evidence for his argument. Lewontin adds that Leroi’s work points out the confusion about the factors of racial categorization as well as the recent erroneous deductions about the relevance of such identifications of the race for medical practice.
The author holds the four facts about the variation of humans upon which the world seems to agree are the ultimate evidence for the understanding of race as a biological concept. First, the species of human have immense variations of genetics from one individual to another. Second, the largest chunk of human variation (nearly 85 percent) is a representation of people within local linguistic or national populations. Examples include the French, Mexican, and Japanese. Third, some genetic traits such as skin color, the form of hair, shape of the nose, and some blood proteins like the Rhesus, vary together such that people with dark skin color are also likely to have dark, curled hair, broad noses, and a high likelihood of Rh blood type. Fourth, the genetic differences break down due to rampant migration and intergroup mating; although, it existed in the past, it is now widespread at a high rate.

To understand the broader context of cultural competence in health care, there are a variety of stakeholders involved in the delivery and support of health care services whose perspectives must be considered.
According to Pérez and Luquis (2008, p. 46), cultural competence was defined by the 2000 Joint Committee on Health Education and Promotion Terminology of AAHE as "the ability of an individual to understand and respect values, attitudes, beliefs, and mores that differ across cultures, and to consider and respond to appropriately to these differences in planning, implementing, and evaluating health education and promotion programs and interventions."
Considering this broad, interrelated complexity, reflect on the importance of cultural competence for health care organizations, and for the health and wellness of diverse groups.

Now that we know the stages of critical thinking and have a better understanding of how to improve, we need to think about how we will measure our progress. What types of standards will we need to hold our thinking to in order to ensure we are thinking critically? What types of questions can we ask ourselves to double check our thinking? Paul & Elder (2012) give us the basic, universal standards and as a reminder, I have them listed here:

Last week, we looked at the influence that outside sources like family, friends, and the media have on our ability to think critically. We've also spent the last week reviewing how we should evaluate our evidence sources to ensure they are reliable and credible. This week, we will look specifically at the media and how what they deliver may not be as objective and bias free as you would hope.
Paul & Elder (2012) give us a list of myths that you may or may not believe about various forms of media. Those myths include:
· that most news stories are produced through independent investigative journalism
· that news writers simply report facts in their stories and do not come to conclusions about them
· that fact and opinion are clearly separated in constructing the news
· that there is an objective reality (the actual "news") that is simply "reported" or described by the news media of the world (our news media writers reporting on this objectively; the media of foreign enemies systematically slanting and distorting it)
· that what is unusual (novel, odd, bizarre) is news; what is usual is not (Paul & Elder, 2012)

Services (2011) urge providers
to improve the overall quality of
health care by making it more
patient centered. Patient-centered
care (or person-centered care) refers
to the therapeutic relationship
between health care providers and
recipients of health care services,
with emphasis on meeting the
needs of individual patients. Al -
though the term has been used
widely in recent years, it remains a
poorly defined and conceptualized
phenomenon (Hobbs, 2009).
Patient-centered care is believed
to be holistic nursing care. It pro-
vides a mechanism for nurses to
engage patients as active partici-
pants in every aspect of their health
(Scott, 2010). Patient shadowing
and care flow mapping were used to
create a sense of empathy and
urgency among clinicians by clarify-
ing the patient and family experi-
ence. These two approaches, which
were meant to promote patient-cen-
tered care, can improve patient sat-
isfaction scores without increasing
costs (DiGioia, Lorenz, Greenhouse,
Bertoty, & Rocks, 2010). A better
under standing of attributes of
patient-centered care and areas for
improvement is needed in order to
develop nursing policies that in -
crease the use of this model in health
care settings.

to clarify the concept of patient-cen-
tered care for consistency with the
common understanding about pa -
tient satisfaction and the quality of
care delivered from nurses to
patients. Attributes from a customer
service model, the Gap Model of
Service Quality, are used in a focus
on the perspective of the patient as
the driver and evaluator of service
quality. Relevant literature and the
Gap Model of Service Quality
(Parasuraman, Zeithaml, & Leonard,

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
