The Nature Camp Counselor position
provides youth leadership experience and
enhances knowledge of the cultural and
natural history of Lake County. While
assisting District educators, the Nature
Camp Counselor learns about summer
programs. This year’s topics include
plants, invertebrates, pond ecology,
fish, and Illinois history about Native
Americans and Voyagers. Daily tasks of a
Nature Camp Counselor involve animal
care, program support, participating in
enrichment sessions, and assisting the
program leader with group management,
games and crafts. Work reporting
locations will vary each week. These
positions are designed for individuals
ages 16 to 19 with a valid driver’s
license who have an interest in working
outdoors and with chidren. Nature Camp
Counselors are required to provide their
own transportation.

  • 16. 16 For more information, call 847-968-3242 The Nature Camp Counselor position provides youth leadership experience and enhances knowledge of the cultural and natural history of Lake County. While assisting District educators, the Nature Camp Counselor learns about summer programs. This year’s topics include plants, invertebrates, pond ecology, fish, and Illinois history about Native Americans and Voyagers. Daily tasks of a Nature Camp Counselor involve animal care, program support, participating in enrichment sessions, and assisting the program leader with group management, games and crafts. Work reporting locations will vary each week. These positions are designed for individuals ages 16 to 19 with a valid driver’s license who have an interest in working outdoors and with chidren. Nature Camp Counselors are required to provide their own transportation.
