The students at El Carmen Primary School recently celebrated Thanksgiving. They learned about the history and origins of the holiday, including how the English pilgrims arrived on the Mayflower and struggled to survive in early America before being helped by Native Americans. To commemorate the cooperation between the pilgrims and Native Americans, the students represented how Thanksgiving is traditionally celebrated by sharing a meal with turkey, gravy, pie and other foods.
