We are targeting smartphone
users aged 13 onwards.
Primarily used to find your favourite
places.
This app can be used at any time
and in any place ‘wherever,
whenever’
Main uses are getting back to
previous places and sharing those
places with friends.
This app could be more useful if the
users are forgetful or busy.

We are addressing the problem of how
to find useful things or places that you do
not how to get back to.

We think this is a big problem when out
and about and we feel that this app
addresses it perfectly.

More convenient than a map and is
personal.

different reasons e.g. best

Simple idea, don’t overcomplicate, save,
navigate, share.
Also learnt that they would use it on average
twice a week.
90% would recommend to a friend they know.

Especially liked the share feature.
Not supported on android below 3.2.
We aim to get that and to reach iOS.
Noe good apps made in Britain (English is poor).

  • 2. We are targeting smartphone users aged 13 onwards. Primarily used to find your favourite places. This app can be used at any time and in any place ‘wherever, whenever’ Main uses are getting back to previous places and sharing those places with friends. This app could be more useful if the users are forgetful or busy. WHEREVER,WHENEVER
  • 3. We are addressing the problem of how to find useful things or places that you do not how to get back to. WHEREVER,WHENEVER We think this is a big problem when out and about and we feel that this app addresses it perfectly.
  • 4. How can you return to your forgotten, favourite places? WHEREVER,WHENEVER Links back to the previous slide because we feel that this app addresses this perfectly.
  • 5. More convenient than a map and is personal. WHEREVER,WHENEVER You can save locations for different reasons e.g. best dog walking place. Return to locations not on a map.
  • 6. Most interested were between 16 and 55. Simple idea, don’t overcomplicate, save, navigate, share. Also learnt that they would use it on average twice a week. 90% would recommend to a friend they know. WHEREVER,WHENEVER Largely said good idea. Make sure it is easy to use. Especially liked the share feature.
  • 7. Not supported on android below 3.2. We aim to get that and to reach iOS. Noe good apps made in Britain (English is poor). They have no share feature which ours does.] WHEREVER,WHENEVER Already a PlaceMarker Pro (£1.22) our survey said prepared to pay 99p. Quotation from a review. Placing new marks other than current location is not possible
  • 8. Users forgetting where about they parked their car. Forgotten their favourite restaurant and want to meet with a friend. Easy to recognise when received from a friend. WHEREVER,WHENEVER Easy to pin and share.
  • 9. Concentrated on minimal screens for ease of use. Bright, vivid display to make navigation around the app easy. Photo storage to take a photo of the pinned place. WHEREVER,WHENEVER
  • 13. The Ability to share through social media allows for a quick spread through many people using sites such as Facebook and Twitter allowing the app to become easily accessible to many through these sites. WHEREVER,WHENEVER

When the feedback is negative students mistranslate. Oyster on the Go: You don’t remember how much money you have left on your pay-as-you-go Oyster card and run out of credit when you urgently need to get on a train Cattle Manager: You need to run backwards and forwards between the office and your cows, taking notes on paper and wasting time or loosing notes
  3. What core question are you addressing with the app? Examples: BuzzerBuddiez: how can you avoid oversleeping? Transit: how can negative teacher feedback be translated accurately? Oyster on the Go: how can you be more aware of how much credit you still have on your Oyster card? Cattle Manager: how can you keep track of injections for your cows while you are out and about looking after them?
