through a “walking GPS” technology.
Users create their profile and indicate their blood type. When blood supplies run low, users
would receive Blood Alerts through the app – indicating the specific blood type
needed, with a map function to find the nearest Red Cross center for them to make a

The Tudlo iOS app – the name means to teach
in a Phillipine dialect – can tell its users if there
is a natural disaster within their vicinity, such
as an earthquake, flood, typhoon, fire, heat-
wave, an act of terrorism, car or plane
accidents, or even a pandemic alert.
Summly's purpose is to condense news
into only a few sentences so that you
can understand the gist of a story
without reading the hundreds of words.
While we started with a relatively simple
extraction algorithm for general news,
we have now launched a bold and
ambitious effort to take summarisation
technology far beyond its present state.
Readers may use the Philippine STAR mobile app to scan selected photos, news items, ads and
other contents, and watch these come alive in their tablets or smartphones, the feature not only
allows readers to get more information from the articles and advertisements they read in the
paper, but also lets them interact with selected newspaper content.
