Primary and secondary education in Ukraine is compulsory and free for children between the ages of 5-16. Schools have various staff who support education like teachers, librarians, secretaries, nurses and principals. Primary school lasts 4 years after which students can continue their education. The education system is similar to that of Great Britain where most primary schools are state-run though some children attend private schools.
