7 Types of Prospect.
One Can Explode
Your Business
Network marketing is
exciting for those who enter,
but unfortunately the good
times end quickly when new
distributors are faced with
PROSPECTING.
Their company or sponsor
tell them to make a list of
friends and family who
might be a good fit for the
business.
The sponsor then says, “Just
bring in 3 people and they will
bring in 3” and so on.
The new distributor is very
excited to talk to Aunt Betty,
but Aunt Betty turns vicious
and writhes on the ground,
saying something about a
Pyramid Scheme.
A little deterred, the sponsor
assumes Aunt Betty was just
having a delayed episode of
road rage and moves on to
Cousin Scott.
Cousin Scott’s favorite pastime is
watching the stock ticker below on the
screen of CNBC and when the new
distributor begins to talk to Scott, Scott
flatly states it’s a PONZI.
New Distributor never
liked Cousin Scott
anyway.
Then the New Distributor finally get’s
enough courage to ask his Uncle,
Lawyer Mike, but Lawyer Mike
snickers in that condescending way
that instantly reduces New Distributor’
s confidence into oblivion.
And, that’s it! The show is
over.
A majority of network marketers quit
this way and it doesn’t need to happen
if they learn a different way to
prospect.
First, let’s go over the 7 types
of prospect starting with the
worst.
7. Strangers: These are well,
strangers, they know nothing
about you or your business,
or even about network
marketing.
Strangers are the ones the
bravest new distributors
prospect after they
embarrass themselves with
friends and family.
Which friends and family is
the second worst at number
six.
Friends and family are there to love
you, not to become your business
partner who is going to automatically
come out of a beer or tortilla stupor
and make you millions.
#5 People who are in Sales: These
people know how to push product and
services, but they still haven’t
considered starting a home based
business and have little understanding
of passive and residual income.
#4 People who are looking for a home-
based business: This is getting good.
They want what you have, but they still
don’t know, like or trust you.
#3 People who buy training for
network marketing: These people are
really close to deciding which
company and sponsor they want to
choose before making the final
decision.
#2 People who own a home-based
business: These people know what
network marketing is and they are
actively working their business.
This is a huge market. There are 17
million home-based and direct selling
members in the United States alone and
thousands of new people join a
network marketing company everyday.
What could be better
than this prospect?
#1 Frustrated Network Marketers:
These people know about the business
and are active, but they are frustrated
for many reasons and might jump into
a new company soon or quit the
industry altogether.
This is very powerful,
because. . .
90% of network marketers are
frustrated! They need your expertise
because they are lost, or things aren’t
going fast enough, or their sponsor
disappeared like a B-movie magician.
I am no expert, so how can I help
frustrated network marketers and
aren’t they my competition? You ask.
No. They are not your competition.
Everyone in network marketing
should support the industry as a whole
and dissing a fellow network marketer
is like putting yourself down, which
would energetically stifle your
business.
And, becoming an expert takes time,
but if you read my presentation The
Cycle of Wealth you know how to
become an expert quickly in this
industry and everyone wants to be
sponsored by an expert.
The majority of new network
marketers jump ship within three
months and are looking for the perfect
combination of sponsor, company and
product.
But, secretly they just want to follow a
leader who will increase their chances
of success in the industry and there is
no perfect combination. Success lies
within and with a powerful marketing
system.
Our job, as network marketers, is to
focus solely on solving the problems of
others and I don’t mean what your
product can do for them.
I’m talking about painting a solution
and end-result for them, whether that
be them spending more time with their
kids, or feeling great naked in front of a
mirror.
The spammy opportunity
messages some network
marketers use are
ineffective today.
Everyone is inundated with these types
of get-rich-quick messages and the more
desperate these marketers get the more
outlandish the message.
The only way to rise above the sea of
spam and be seen as a leader is to
provide education for struggling
network marketers.
People want to join YOU more than a
company or product. The more you
learn and teach others the more you will
EARN.
