1. ABSTRACT
Target has definitely shown that they know how to go about social media and
how to please its customers. Most of their social media networks have several
different pages aimed at what you are looking for. This helps the costumer look
at one that targets their needs. They have their hand in just about every social
media network. They update them daily and are very impressive with their
response to comments to try and make the customers feel they are being heard.
It is also clear that they join in on the recent viral news that the country is
interested in. They are open about problems they have had like when all the
credit card information was stolen as well as when the Lilly Pulitzer line came out
and broke down the website.
TARGET OVERVIEW
Target is gearing their social media to being young and also being affordable.
People love Target for their appealing products with slim price tags. They have a
little bit of everything from home décor and appliances, grocery items, clothing,
baby items, etc. Target is a great one-stop shop and they like to show that. They
have done a great job covering all of the social medias to stay up to date with the
times.
SOCIAL PLATFORMS
Target has covered all of its bases on Social Media. Here are the platforms they
use:
-Facebook -Google+ -Instagram
-Tumblr -Vine and Snapchat -LinkedIn

2. FACEBOOK
Their Facebook is filled with new hip videos that capture people in. They seem to
talk a about their products on Facebook but also show deals they have going on.
It is interesting how they also post funny and popular videos going viral to appeal
to the younger crowd. They have quite the Facebook following with 22 million
people. I also found it very interesting that they have a tab on Facebook of
product recalls to keep costumers updated on items they shouldn’t be using.
They also have two other Facebook pages geared towards Baby items and
Target style. They seem to do this with a lot of their social medias to let people
see more of what they are interested in.
TWITTER
Target actually has six different Twitter accounts. They have one main Twitter for
Target, one for careers, Target deals, Ask Target, Target Style, and Target
News. On their main Twitter account they have 1.63 million follows so not as
many as on Facebook. It would be interesting to see if having all these different
twitters would affect their numbers negatively or if it pleases their costumers to
see more of exactly what they want like careers or products. It handles each
costumers needs with these different twitters.
INSTAGRAM
Target again has three different accounts just like their other social medias. One
main account, one account for careers, and one for Target Style. It seems like all
the videos they were posting on their main Facebook page are also on their main
instagram. On that main page they have 773,000 follows so definitely a big
difference from their Facebook page.
PINTEREST
I love their Pinterest! They pin their products and give you ideas on how to use
them and how to decorate with them. Personally, it really makes me want to go
buy a lot of those things since they are showing them in cute rooms! They have
Target
3. 299,402 follows and 67,965 pins. They have 57 boards ranging from different
rooms in a house, to clothes, to Holidays, etc.
YOUTUBE
Their YouTube seems to be used to post their ads and tutorials. I saw again that
they are keeping up with the times by creating an ad that went with Pitch Perfect
2. They had the different people during the ad do the cup song but to a different
song. I thought that was an interesting take on supporting the movie. They have
63,394 subscribers.
Target wants to help you save which is always reassuring.
4. They posted this on National Donut Day. I think it is
a great example of how they join in on the current
things people are interested in.
