SAFE AND FUN WAYS TO GET YOUR ANGER OUT
                       (Alone or together)

•   Rip up old newspapers or magazines and throw them around.
•   Make balls of the torn paper and throw them into a trashcan and see how many “baskets”
    you can make.
•   Stomp around and talk in loud gibberish
•   Punch a beanbag chair, mattress, or a pillow filled with old clothes or paper.
•   Go to the beach and throw stones in the water (where no one is swimming)
•   Pop the plastic packing materials (“bubbles”).
•   Do an angry dance.
•   Count to 10 loudly and slowly.
•   Yell a karate yell and jump in the air.
•   Create an angry rap or jazz song and sing it as loud as you can.
•   Kick pillows piled up against the wall.
•   Blow into a paper bag and pop it.
•   Shout your anger into a tape recorder, play it back and hear your angry voice.
•   Pound clay as much as you want and then create something when you feel better.
•   Make a “MAD” face in the mirror or find a friend to make “MAD” faces with you
•   Draw a picture of what or who is making you mad and stomp on it.
•   Write an angry letter, and tear it up into little pieces.
•   Get a drum or tin can and play an angry beat
•   Draw pictures of different sizes of what makes you angry – make the biggest picture the
    one that makes you the angriest.
•   Clean your room or the kitchen or pull weeds
•   Get a swim noodle, cut it in half and use it to pound on something.
•   Kick a soccer ball
•   Take a bucket of water and a big brush and “paint” the trees.
•   Find someone to talk to.
