Last week, the group discussed designing a kettle product. The student was assigned to research the kettle's circuit. They presented a block diagram of the kettle to their advisor but it did not work. The student then researched temperature sensors and found information on the DS18S20 sensor. The DS18S20 can accurately measure temperature from -55°C to 125°C using 1-Wire communication with a microprocessor. It has an unique 64-bit code so multiple sensors can be used on one bus. Next week, the group will design the circuit for their kettle product.
