Faith has 5 key characteristics: 1) It requires total and absolute adherence to God; 2) It adheres to the Triune God consisting of 3 persons in 1 - God the creator, Jesus the redeemer, and the Holy Spirit the sanctifier; 3) It is loving, helps one mature in faith, and calls one to participate in God's mission; 4) It involves accepting God's teachings through an informed community like the Church; 5) Genuine faith incorporates local culture like the Filipino value of family and friends but never separates from God.
