Understanding the Dimensions of Faith
1. FAITH
• Faith as a personal decision is the
person’s total “YES” to GOD’s
total gift of Self in Christ.
2. • The act of faith must be an act of
the believer’s own self , through
which one personally decides to
accept the person of Christ and
His message, and commits oneself
to Christ’s person and work within
the Christian community.

4. FAITH AS BELIEVING
An act of belief ( paniniwala )
Loving knowledge – there’s something, someone,
to know.
But it’s interpersonal knowledge not drawn from
direct evidence of the senses or mind, nor from
scientific experiment.
Rather, in Christian faith we know and hold
something to be true because we firmly believe
God has revealed it – GOD Who is perfect Truth,
Who can neither deceive nor be deceived.
6. FAITH AS MORAL DOING
Acting in obedience to God’s will
(pagsunod, pagtalima, pagkilos).
The authentic believer is one who hears
the Word of God and keep it.
We can be sure that we know God only
by keeping his commandments
St . James wrote “a way of faith is dead if
it is separated from good deeds”
8. FAITH AS TRUSTING/WORSHIPPING
• An act of total trust and worship
(pagtitiwala).
• In faith we enter into a relationship
of adoring God as our Creator and
the ever-faithful rock of our salvation
– our all powerful loving Savior.
9. FAITH AS TRUSTING/WORSHIPPING
In faith we recognize our duty as
creatures to worship God “in Spirit and
in truth”, trusting that God will be true
to his Word in raising us from the dead
to new life in the power of the Holy
Spirit, sent by the Father and the Risen
Christ
This trust is expressed most clearly in
the Church’s liturgical worship.
11. FAITH AS INTEGRATED BELIEVING,
DOING AND TRUSTING
Authentic Christian faith, responding to
God’s Self revelation through Jesus in
the Holy Spirit, brings about a way of life
that embraces the conviction of the
Gospel truth, the active commitment to
obey God’s holy will and the personal
trust and self offering of Christian
worship
