Distribution : World wide especially in raising area &wool cattle World wide especially in children.
M.O.Transmission: -ingestion of under cooked meat infected that containing the
infective stage ( cysticercus )
-ingestion of eggs which are infective as soon as they ex released
-Contaminated food or water with eggs
-Auto-infective (finger – oral )
Clinical symptoms:
1-Vague abdominal discomfort
2-Hanger pain
3-Malnutrition &Maldigestion & Malabsorption.
1- Abdominal pain & discomfort
2- Flatus‫البطن‬ ‫انتفاخ‬
3- Malnutrition &Maldigestion.
Treatment:
Drugs Taenia saginata H.nana
1-Niclosmide tab ( yumesan)
-10 mg/kg bodyweight
as single dose withlaxative or
-16 tab for 5 day
(4 tab in firstday&3 tab for4 day )
Adult : 4 tab 1x 5 days
Children:>34kg 3tab 1x5 days
=11-39kg 2tab 1x5 days
< 11kg 1 tab 1x5 days
2- Praziquanteltab (Distocide)® 40 mg /kg
as single dose withlaxative
25 mg/kgonce as oral dose
