Interferon is an antiviral substance that inhibits viral replication and the body's cellular response to viruses. It does this by inhibiting the replication of viruses that attack the body's cells, and increasing the body's immunity to help fight off viral infections and tumor diseases. However, interferon can be difficult to obtain and expensive to produce.
