The document provides a design brief for reinventing a public school in Milan's Barona district to improve social cohesion. The school is located in the central courtyard of a public housing complex. Designers are tasked with creating a product-service system that uses the school to bring together local residents and visitors in an economically self-sustaining manner through activities like workshops, repair services, and low environmental impact initiatives. A map shows the school's location in the Barona district relative to other community spaces.
Merete Sanderhoff presents on an experimental Danish project to share open content from museums using a mobile platform. The pilot project uses Twitter APIs and a simple interface/backend to allow museum visitors to access information on artworks through QR codes or URLs on their phones. Comments and related multimedia can then be viewed and shared. Over 150 artworks from several Danish museums have been made openly licensed so far. The goals are to connect collections, encourage user participation and dialogue, and build a sustainable shared platform for mobile museum interpretation. Next steps include expanding open licenses and launching a full report on the pilot by April 2013.
Eszter Nagy designed several projects to address challenges related to survival in extreme conditions. These included TONDO, a toy that tells stories through interactive figures and landscapes, NEOTRITION, which envisioned 3D printed customized food, and LIGHTZONE, a clock that shows the passage of time between a user and their loved ones in different time zones. Nagy also created PHOOKA, an interactive night light shaped as a customizable monster to help children overcome fears, and worked on solutions to help climbers and hikers survive freezing temperatures and hypothermia through integrated clothing technologies. Overall, the document outlines Nagy's portfolio and experience as a designer focused on developing products, experiences and systems related to storytelling
Collaborative spaces, open communities, and smart cities, share one similar objective: designing the commons as a third way between the State and the Market. #RGCS2020 will be focused on building commons (digital, community-based, in organization) to explore new ways of collaborating, innovating, and creating knowledge.

Collecting Social Memory through Museum Collection ConservationNikolaos Maniatis
The traditional role of the conservator has been associated with the preservation of the tangible aspect of cultural heritage. Conservation science has been mainly developing along with material science and conservators have focused their efforts on the preservation of the tangible nature of artefacts. In numerous cases this practice has led to the underestimation of the intangible content of objects of cultural heritage in terms of the conservation methodology and practice applied.
The traditional conservation principle of minimal intervention is gaining new meaning, as we have come to realise that an artefact’s material and structural integrity interrelates and sometimes comes to conflict with possible evidence of significant historical and social memory content. As social memory is related to the experiences of individual members of the society, conservators must develop approaches of documentation and conservation methodologies in order to identify, document and eventually preserve the memory reflections of the epresented societies by preserving the artefact’s intangible content. It becomes apparent that in order to safeguard the artefacts’ social and historical integrity and contribute towards the perception, appreciation and understanding of the cultural heritage, the conservators have to preserve and document the artefact’s intangible content that reflects social memory.

The document discusses the development of an affordable wireless data logger for use in museum environments. It proposes using the Arduino open-source electronics prototyping platform to create a prototype data logger capable of logging temperature, humidity, and time. The document outlines the hardware and software requirements for the data logger and presents images of a prototype device created with the Arduino platform. It argues that open-source platforms like Arduino are well-suited for this application due to their low-cost, flexibility, and active developer community support.

HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc
- Practical examples and best practices to implement right away
