GRA whitepaper - Amazon's Impact on AustraliaRebecca Manjra
What will the imminent arrival of Amazon mean for Australian companies? A question that is no doubt keeping many Australian retailers awake at night.
We address their concerns in a new whitepaper Amazon – Impact on Australia, examining what we know about Amazon and therefore its motivation for entering the Australian market. From here we look to the future by drawing comparisons with Amazon’s impact on Canada – a country of similar size and geographical vastness. As Amazon roll outs over time, we identify which Australian companies will be impacted and when.
We look at Amazon’s competitive advantages and the likely impact this will have on local retailers. With a relentless focus on customer experience and innovation Amazon has a highly personalised and predictive supply chain model. In order to survive and co-exist with Amazon, Australian retailers will need to lift their maturity level in all supply chain areas (strategy, operations planning & execution).
To help Australian retailers become ‘Amazon Ready’, we have included a four-stage ‘Online to Omni-Channel Supply Chain Maturity Model’.
A presentation on Amazon's Corporate Branding. The information in the presentation is collated with the help of both primary and secondary data and is not sponsored by Amazon. It covers Corporate identity, communication strategy, governance and other aspects related to public relations, investor relations, advertising, marketing, etc.
The world around us is changing and at incredible speed. Digitization is impacting everything, how we live, work and play. At the same time, we see entry barriers to our industry coming down. Leading to massive fragmentation of our markets and intense cost competition. All this in a world of uncertainty and inequality. At the same time, the current uncertain framework leads to more and more empowered humans’ takeover responsibility and action to achieve common goals
In this constantly changing world we are facing a growth dilemma: big companies tend to ignore small, but disruptive opportunities, while small companies may lack resources to scale up innovative ideas and disrupt the market.
Together with Prof Daniel Rukare from Hult International Business School we've looked into solutions for Future Proofing Through Innovations.
There are few areas companies can explore, when looking for solutions to the growth dilemma.
Creating new disruptive value networks and ambidextrous business models, able to keep stable existing business, while accelerating growth though disruptive innovations is an imperative for the business in the current market context.
Find more details on the presentation attached and feel free to reach out to us for any further details.
Human beings have experienced three distinctive eras during their time on earth - pre-modern, modern, and post-modern. Interestingly, marketing has followed a very similar course, leading Stein IAS to speculate that we're now at the dawn of the post-modern marketing era.

This Walmart SWOT analysis reveals how the largest company in the world uses its competitive advantages to dominate and successfully grow in the retail industry.
It identifies all the key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that affect the company the most.
Walmart has become the world’s largest company by revenue for a few reasons. First, it used cost leadership strategy and executed it brilliantly. Second, it operated in the world’s richest economy, which enabled Walmart to grow fast and successfully.
At the moment, most of Walmart’s strengths come from the huge company’s size. These strengths, such as market power over suppliers and competitors, well developed distribution system and large merchandise selection, will help the company to stay the largest retailer, at least the largest brick-and-mortar retailer, for quite some time. Nonetheless, the company has to find other strengths if it wants to grow faster and be able to compete with Amazon.com in e-commerce.
As for the weaknesses, Walmart should improve its brand image, employment and business practices. That would most likely result in more productive employees, happier customers and eventually in higher sales.
Walmart will continue to dwarf the U.S. retail industry and will grow internationally, at least for the next 5-10 years.
A presentation on Walmart. Walmart is one of the biggest e-commerce in the world. At Walmart, there is everyday low prices on a broad. Learn how the company achieves that from the PPT.

In what was the biggest purchase in Amazon history, the online retail giant swallowed up grocery chain Whole Foods for a small sum of 13.7 billion dollars.
The news streamed in last week was very well documented but, with this massive move into grocery, what does this mean to us in advertising? What about the companies our agencies represent?
This keynote covers the perceived strategy behind this acquisition and focuses on how this move is set to change the categories and brands we work with each day.

As our 2016 Retail Future Trends Report revealed, 2016 was once again a year of innovation amid a
competitive time for retailers that are online, offline and moving into the omnichannel realm. Mobile,
as well as data analytics and Internet of Things (IoT), hit home with retailers striving to drive a better
customer experience.
Consumers still are focused on a retailer’s website for product research; however, as this Top 100
report illustrates, they’re also increasingly using smartphones and other mobile devices.
The trends data revealed 35 percent of consumers believe it is very important for a retailer to have
both a brick-and-mortar and online presence. That consumer expectation may be a big reason
Amazon, which again took home the top honor in this Top 100 survey, is moving into the brick-andmortar
realm after over two decades of pure e-commerce strategy.

for their firms.
This paper explores the fundamental changes in the business of marketing, then introduces a capability model for driving customer engagement in a connected world. This capability model enables robust optimization at “the moment

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
