is $20 billion more than Austria's GDP. If Walmart were a country, it would be the
26th largest economy in the world.
• Walmart top selling item in 2014 was banana.
• Walmart generated $514.4 billion in revenue in the fiscal year ended Jan. 31,
2019, up from $500.3 billion the previous year. In addition, e-commerce sales
grew 40%.
• In the first quarter of 2019, Walmart sales increased by 37% year-over-year.
Revenue rose 1% to $123.9 billion.

24. Criticism of Walmart
• Predatory Pricing:
Walmart has been accused of selling merchandise at low costs that competitors
have tried to sue it for intentionally selling product at low cost in order to drive
competitors out of the market.
• Employee and Labour Relations:
With about 2.2 million employee worldwide, Walmart has faced a number of
lawsuits and issues ranging from low wages, poor working conditions, inadequate
health care and so forth.
