4. Characteristics of a Sleeping Garment
1. There should be no fabric ornament or trim, such as lace or ribbon,
which extends more than ¼ inch from the point at which it is attached to
the garment;
2. It should have sleeves that taper from the shoulders to the ends of the
sleeves;
3. It should have pant legs that taper from the thighs to the ends of the
legs;
4. If it is 1-piece, it should taper from the chest down to the waist and
from the seat up to the waist;

5. If it is 2-piece:
A. The upper piece should tapers from the chest down to the bottom of the
piece
B. If the upper piece has fastenings it should be located within 6 inches
from the bottom of the piece.
C. It has lower piece that tapers from the seat to the bottom.
6. It should bear a permanent label stating the size of garment;
7. It should bear a hang tag alerting buyers that the garments are not
flame- resistant and should be worn snug fitting because loose-fitting
garments are more likely to catch fire.

6. TYPES OF SLEEPWEAR
1. Chemise/Slips are a gown-like
delicate which are extremely feminine
garments.
• These are loose fitting, sleeveless, shirt-
like garments which are shorter in length
and reach somewhere about the mid of
your thigh.
• These are made of silks and stains. Laces,
trimmings, bows, etc. are all incorporated
into the design to make them more
appealing and sexier

2. Sleep Shirts/ night shirts these are
comfortable because these are usually
of soft, breathable knits that let you sleep
in comfort.
3. Peignoir is a long outer garment for
women. It is a sexy and highly feminine
piece of clothing.

4. Pajama Set is a loose fitting trousers
that comes in two pieces to include a
shirt or a t-shirt.
• They are available in silks, satins,
cottons, polyesters, nylons, etc.
• It may be of the classy draw string-
style or may feature some elastics,

clothing like a loose dress worn by a
woman or a girl. The best thing about
night dress is that it will suit every body’s
shape and the right choice for the humid
weathers.
6. Teddy is a luxury item worn by
women for a sexy and hot look while
on a romantic night out. They are
made of chic shinny materials like
satins, silks, etc. Laces, trimmings
etc.

The coolest thing about shorts set is that
be it tall or petite woman it complements
everyone flawlessly.

for the winter nights and a decent
wear for those who live in joint

9. Robe – a loose-fitting outer garment,
worn by either men or women. It is fitted
with a belt that ties looped through the
waist to fit all sizes.
10. Jumpsuit all-in-one footed sleep
suit worn by adults, similar to an infant
onesie or children's blanket sleeper and
usually made from cotton.
