Smog hanging over cities is the most familiar form of air pollution but there are also invisible pollutants that contribute to global warming. Any substance introduced into the atmosphere that harms living things or the environment is considered air pollution. The author proposes a project to better control air pollution by combining electricity generation and district heating in thermal power plants to distribute power and heat to over 300,000 customers in a metropolitan area and reduce other countries' reliance on fuel oil, which could help reduce lung diseases and trouble from air pollution for future generations.
