ABSTRACT
Auditorium is an amusement to the people. The main purpose of our project is
to satisfy the unity and comfort of our college students. In this project we concerned
about the plan, analysis and design of auditorium. Auditorium is an essential thing for
college. We have proposed to execute our project at PIE tech campus. Our project
comprises of single floor, roof is made up of RCC and GRID SLAB. Special
arrangements have been made for emergency service, fire safety and emergency exit for
the safety of users. In our project a very look able stage, control room and two separate
rooms available with guest rooms and WC. Especially lighting works are arranged for
the marvelous look.
While planning this “Auditorium” the following factors are considered
physcology of users, comfort seating arrangements and orientation aesthetics plays a
vital role. The analysis is done by using software package, “STAAD PRO” limit state
method is adopted for the design of slab, beam, column, footing etc.
OBJECTIVE
 The main objective of planning is to execute the project
economically both in terms of money and time.
 To conduct various functions in our college such as
INTRODUCTION
 First auditorium built up Chicago is located in
 Area 67699.5 square feet (6292.49 square meter)
AUDITORIUM
 An auditorium is a room built to enable an
hear and watch performances at venues such as
 Auditorium is a large space that is move of a
multipurpose facilities.
TYPES OF AUDITORIUM
ARENA TYPE
 Auditorium with audience surrounded on all sides .
PROSCENIUM TYPE
 Auditorium with audience only on the front side.
THRUST TYPE
 Auditorium with audience surrounded on three sides.
GRID SLAB
DEFINITION
 A waffle slab is a type of building material that has two directional
outside of the material, giving it shape of the pockets on a waffle.
 These type of reinforcement is a common on concrete, wood and metal
 A waffle slab gives a substance significantly more structural stability without
additional material.
 This makes a waffle slab perfect for large flat areas like foundations or floors.
MERITS
 Waffle slabs are the able to carry heavier loads and span longer distances
than flat slabs as the systems are light in weight.
 It gives good appearance.
 Vibration control.
DEMERITS
 Construction requires skilled labour and strict supervision.
METHOD OF DESIGN
Limit state method
 The structure shall be designed to withstand safely
liable to act on it through out its life,it shall also satisfy
serviceability requirements before failure occurs.
CODE BOOK USED
Indian standard 456:2000
 This standard deals with the general structure use of plain
reinforced concrete.
 For the purpose of this standard, plain concrete structures
where reinforcement,if provided is ignored for determination of
the structure.
SP :16-1980
 This assists in designing reinforced concrete structure in
with IS456.
 Even though it was published for IS456:1978, it can be
IS456:2000.
 Extensive charts are given for both design of compression
and flextural members.
SOFTWARE USED
AUTO CAD
A general purpose Drafting Software must provide the
variety of functions for creating and manipulating the
STAAD PRO
To design and analyzing the structure using limit state
DETAILS ABOUT PLAN
The proposed square auditorium building consists of a single floor with guest rooms,
green rooms and toilets having the total area of plinth as 1225 sq.m are detailed below.
Plinth area =13179sq.ft
Total no of seats =1008Nos
Total area of seating =7560 sq.ft
Size of stage =800sq.ft
Guest rooms =200(2)sq.ft
Green room =190(2)sq.ft
Toilets =90(2)sq.ft
Control room =160sq.ft

CONCLUSION
Through this project we learned that a successful design of auditorium
on its acoustics design which includes the auditorium layout and the types of
materials used. An auditorium building structure is designed as a commercial
of grid beams plays vital role in the design and analysis. Two side Reinforcement
completely done with good vibration control. This design adopted in limit state
design.M30 grade of concrete and Fe415 grade of steel are used. All structural
designed as under reinforced section. The design of slabs, beams, column and
done. All the drawing presented in this project report was drafted using Auto
beams have been designed by taking maximum bending moment and from the
results. Auditorium building will be beneficiary to the students in the college.
