The Bishop of Sindhudurg Diocese writes a letter thanking supporters for their ongoing financial and missionary support which has allowed the young Diocese, established in 2005, to take its "baby steps". Education is a primary focus, and with support four new schools, a college, Bishop's house, and home for the aged are planned. The Bishop requests continued support through donations or fundraising efforts to help complete these new projects estimated to cost 15 crore rupees.

The Peace of Christ!
As you all know, the Diocese of Sindhudurg is a Mission Diocese. A large number of the people here are poor
and marginalized. Many work in fields. Besides, since this district
lies on the Konkan coast, the basic occupation of many is fishing.
The new born baby, the „Diocese of Sindhudurg‟ born in the year
2005, has grown over the years, taking its baby steps, clinging on
to your helping hands. A sincere thanks to you for being my
constant support, be it financially, through your generous
donations, as well as, like Missionaries, going round with me
seeking more friends. I fall short of words to express my gratitude
towards you and your families who have always been with me to
help me achieve the mission of this Diocese.
Education being our prime focus, we successfully managed to procure land and we
are now planning to construct English Medium schools at Bachani, Vengurla,
Malvan & Sawantwadi. The Boardings for the poor boys at Sawantwadi &
Phanaswadi, a Clergy Home at Sawantwadi have been constructed.

2. The journey does not end here, my friends. There are still lots more to be done and for this I continue to
look up to you. I consider you as a Gift to this Mission Diocese of
Sindhudurg. You have always volunteered to say “Yes” and be a part
of this Mission!
Indeed, you all have given a chance to the Lord to say “You did it for
Me”.

The estimated cost for the above ongoing projects is approximately Rs.15 crores
(Rupees fifteen crores only).
We all are very excited and eager to complete these projects. You, too, can be a part of this excitement
through your valuable support.
