The role of the 21st century teacher has changed significantly from the past. Teachers are no longer simply information suppliers but instead act as facilitators by (1) providing opportunities for students to practice skills and receive feedback, and (2) creating a safe learning environment. Successful 21st century teachers take on roles like adopter, risk-taker, leader, model, collaborator, communicator, and visionary. They help students learn in a world where technology provides constant access to information and opportunities for online social interaction and content creation.
