Common Tasks/Activities
1. What happens if my forecast version is not a full year?
2. How can I change the frequency of forecast upload?
3. Is there any way to "save" my model before big changes?
4. Can I view my model beyond 2 forecast versions?
5. I think a formula is wrong, how can I check the error?
6. How can I audit who has made changes to a formula/the model?
7. I want to add a new KPI – How can I do this?
84
1. Partial Year Forecasts
For eg: If you are forecasting in Jul 2023
1. Your forecast must extend until Dec
2025. You cannot end a forecast
midyear
2. You must upload actuals from Jan – Jul
2023 into the model
3. To upload actuals – please follow steps
in actuals upload slide (activity 5.3)
85
Your forecast must always end in a full year, but it can
start from a mid-year as long as actuals are available
for the missing year period
2. Editing Frequency of Forecast Upload
Dashboard: 06. Administative / 02. Forecast Version
This page allows you to view existing
forecast versions and add new forecast
versions
1
86
1. Forecast frequency determines next
forecast version created
1 = latest quarter + 1 (quarterly)
2 = latest quarter + 2 (half yearly)
4 = latest quarter + 4 (yearly)
Forecast frequency can be adjusted
from the admin dashboard. Please
follow steps below
3. Revision Tags
87
A revision tag is a snapshot of a model's
structural information at a point in time.
They keep track of changes made to the
model and provide a way to compare different
revisions over time. It is a good practice to
assign revision tags before you make any
major change to model formulas/structure
1. Click this menu item to navigate to
revision tag page
2. Create new revision tag, or
3. Select an existing revision tag and
compare against current model
4. You can also revert to revision tag to
make that the current model

there are space limitations, older forecast
versions will be deleted. Other than exporting
data from individual modules, users can copy
and archive a model which can be brought up
later in time for reference.
1. In the main app page, click “View all
models”.
2. In the model page, click “Manage
models”.
3. In model management page, select
model to be archived,
4. Click “Copy & Archive” button

7
4.2 Bringing Model out of Archive
89
After archiving the model, users are able to
bring the model up to review data, given
sufficient space available.
1. To view the model, click “Change mode”.
2. Click “Deployed”.
3. Click “Ok”. Model can now be opened
and reviewed.

5. Formula Drilldown
90
Drilldown lets you explore data from a big-
picture view to a closer, more detailed view. It
helps you see individual data points are
connected and understand how they
contribute to the overall summary.
Drilldown can be used to understand formulas
and identify where errors might be coming
from
1. Right Click on any cell to drilldown
2. Click drilldown option
3. A popup will appear showing the
components of the formula, you can click
into any cell in the popup to drilldown

6. 1 View Change Log
91
A change log is a record that tracks
modifications made to a model or module over
time.
It provides a chronological list of changes,
including who made the change, what specific
elements were modified, and when the
changes occurred.
Model Change Log
1. Go to history in model navigation menu
2. Select "Show History" from time period
relevant (note that longer time periods will
take longer to generate)
3. Click Show History Button
4. Once the popup appears, click export to
download a .txt file of the changes. You
can open this as a .csv to explore futher
5. Note: Do not "Restore to ID". This is a
complex change with many further
effects.
1
2
3
4
6.2 View Change Log
92
Similar to Model Change log, you can also export
a change log for any particular cell. This is more
efficient way to audit if you know which formula
you want to track.
1. Right click on the cell you want to view
history for
2. Select Show History Option
3. Select Time period and follow onscreen
instructions to export change log

7. How to add new KPI for Reporting
93
Any line item in your "REPORT Full Dynamic
PL BS (IDR)" can be reported as a KPI on the
main dashboards. However – you will need to
establish polarity of the outcome (ie if low is
good or low is bad)
1. Navigate to Line Item Subsets in your
model menu
2. Select the "LIS KPI" and press the "Open"
Button in ribbon
3. You will see all your line items in "REPORT
Full Dynamic PL BS (IDR)" . Click the
boolean on the line items you wish to
add/remove from your reporting KPI list
4. IMPORTANT: This does NOT establish
polarity. This only adds the new KPI as a
dimension in all reporting modules. You will
need to navigate to the various referenced
modules to update mapping and polarity
