This is our plan. It will guide you through
the end of the term. If we come back to
face-to-face sessions, great! We’ll go back
to our original plan. But if not, here is how
we will meet all of our learning objectives
and take on new learning opportunities.

The course will end with two big
assignments. The first is the PBL
Presentation. You may create a
video, website, three post blog,
online collages, a pack of trading
cards, a series of info-graphics, a
trifold poster, or a scrapbook. Then
you will write a 100 word reflection
on your solution.
Authentic Assessment Activities due

❑ Final: Short Answer
❑ Final: Essay
► The Final Exam will work just like the
Midterm Exam. It is the exact same
question, but for Module 3 (only). There
is also a short answer, which is an
opinion based question.

Aim for 1500 words. Review the goals and objectives of the course. Investigate what you have
learned and what you were supposed to learn. Generate and evaluate evidence. Establish a position on
the course topic(s) in a concise manner. As a guideline address each of these questions. Each answer
should be about a page in length (300 words). Be sure to include transition sentences between each
page, creating a seamless essay. Also, ensure that you have a strong thesis statement and a strong
conclusion.
• Analyze: Aim for 300 words. Choose between Module 1 or Module 2 (please only choose one).
Summarize and explain the “big idea” and the main theme.
• Describe: Aim for 300 words. Consider the activities, lectures, and discussions connected to this
Module. Describe some of these in great detail, or most of them briefly (choose between depth or
breadth). How did these learning exercises help you understand the material? What did each lesson
teach?
• Evaluate: Aim for 300 words. Emphasis the positive and negative aspects of the unit. What do you
think went well? What did not? Focus on your opinions and support these with some kind of proof,
information, or examples. Unsupported opinions are not acceptable.
• Interpret: Aim for 600 words. Consider why this theme (and its topics) were included in this course.
What is the purpose of the unit? What is the meaning?

2020 learning plan update

  • 1. 2020 Learning Plan. Our Transition to Online Learning. This is our plan. It will guide you through the end of the term. If we come back to face-to-face sessions, great! We’ll go back to our original plan. But if not, here is how we will meet all of our learning objectives and take on new learning opportunities. Hi! How’s it going? Let me start by saying you are doing fine. You are. Whatever you are doing and wherever you are at, it is good. That’s where you need to be. Module 2 Continue to work through Module 2. The Group Activity for Module 2 has been canceled. The points and weights for the course have been adjusted. Thank you for your understanding! Formative Assessment activities due ❑ Self-Check: Module 2 ❑ Journal: Analysis and Reflection ❑ Blog: Teach the Class (Names M – Z) ❑ Group Activity (CANCELED) DUE FRI 3/27 11:59 PM CST Interim Module Complete the essay by the end of the week. I will be available via Google Hangouts, Wed (4/1) & Thurs (4/2) of Week 10. I can workshop your essays here. (Please note: I will not be able to workshop essays through email). Ipsative Assessment due ❑ Midterm: Essay ► You will find the essay question at the bottom of this page; this was introduced Week 8. DUE FRI 4/3 11:59 PM CST Module 3 Starting Module 3 (3/30) we will transition to a completely online format. In order to earn your participation points for each week, complete the makeup work in the forum (each week has an assigned forum). Also, the Leading the Conversation assignment can now be completed online for full credit. Formative Assessment activities due ❑ Weekly Participation Forum ❑ Self-Check: Module 3 ❑ Journal: Analysis and Reflection ❑ Class Blog: Teach the Class (ALL) Authentic Assessment activities due ❑ Leading the Conversation ❑ Honors Project DUE (Honors Students only) DUE FRI 5/1 11:59 PM CST Post-Module The course will end with two big assignments. The first is the PBL Presentation. You may create a video, website, three post blog, online collages, a pack of trading cards, a series of info-graphics, a trifold poster, or a scrapbook. Then you will write a 100 word reflection on your solution. Authentic Assessment Activities due ❑ PBL Presentation Summative Assessment due ❑ Final: Short Answer ❑ Final: Essay ► The Final Exam will work just like the Midterm Exam. It is the exact same question, but for Module 3 (only). There is also a short answer, which is an opinion based question. DUE FRI 5/15 11:59 PM CST Aim for 1500 words. Review the goals and objectives of the course. Investigate what you have learned and what you were supposed to learn. Generate and evaluate evidence. Establish a position on the course topic(s) in a concise manner. As a guideline address each of these questions. Each answer should be about a page in length (300 words). Be sure to include transition sentences between each page, creating a seamless essay. Also, ensure that you have a strong thesis statement and a strong conclusion. • Analyze: Aim for 300 words. Choose between Module 1 or Module 2 (please only choose one). Summarize and explain the “big idea” and the main theme. • Describe: Aim for 300 words. Consider the activities, lectures, and discussions connected to this Module. Describe some of these in great detail, or most of them briefly (choose between depth or breadth). How did these learning exercises help you understand the material? What did each lesson teach? • Evaluate: Aim for 300 words. Emphasis the positive and negative aspects of the unit. What do you think went well? What did not? Focus on your opinions and support these with some kind of proof, information, or examples. Unsupported opinions are not acceptable. • Interpret: Aim for 600 words. Consider why this theme (and its topics) were included in this course. What is the purpose of the unit? What is the meaning?
