Good morning and welcome back to Energy Source, coming to you from New York, where the city swelters in its first heatwave of the season.
Nearly 80 million people were under alerts in the US north-east and midwest yesterday as temperatures in some municipalities reached record highs in a test to the country’s rickety power grid.
In other news, the Financial Times has a new Big Read this morning on Russia’s grip on nuclear power. Despite sanctions on its economy, the Kremlin continues to be an unrivalled exporter of nuclear power plants, building more than half of all reactors under construction globally. Read how Moscow is using these projects to wield global influence.
Today’s Energy Source dives into the latest Statistical Review of World Energy, the industry’s annual stocktake of global energy consumption. The report was published for more than 70 years by BP before it was passed over to the Energy Institute last year. The oil major remains a contributor.
Data Drill looks at a new analysis from the World Bank showing gas flaring is at a four-year high.

New report offers sobering view of the energy transition
Every year the Statistical Review of World Energy offers a behemoth of data on the state of the global energy market. This year’s findings highlight the world’s insatiable demand for energy and the need to speed up the pace of decarbonisation.
Here are our four main takeaways from this year’s report:
Fossil fuel consumption — and emissions — are at record highs
Countries burnt record amounts of oil and coal last year, sending global fossil fuel consumption and emissions to all-time highs, the Energy Institute reported. Oil demand grew 2.6 per cent, surpassing 100mn barrels per day for the first time.
Meanwhile, the share of fossil fuels in the energy mix declined slightly by half a percentage point, but still made up more than 81 per cent of consumption.
Causes Supporting Charity for Elderly PeopleSERUDS INDIA
Around 52% of the elder populations in India are living in poverty and poor health problems. In this technological world, they became very backward without having any knowledge about technology. So they’re dependent on working hard for their daily earnings, they’re physically very weak. Thus charity organizations are made to help and raise them and also to give them hope to live.

AUCTION GUIDE
11TH
ANNUAL
2. Welcome to our 11th annual Mayors United! We are honored
that you are here and hope you have a wonderful time at this
amazing event to help feed, warm, and shelter our neighbors.
What you’re doing tonight is making a significant difference
to your neighbors here in Jackson County. With your help,
ACCESS served over 52,000 people last year, that’s 1 in 4
residents.
Our 21 ACCESS food pantries fed more than 31,000 neighbors
and distributed over 4.9 million pounds of food. As the Non-
Profit Recycler of The Year, we diverted 2.2 million pounds
of edible food away from landfills. ACCESS loaned more than
7,000 pieces of medical equipment —a community savings of
over $1,000,000. We also performed weatherization services
on 114 homes and provided energy assistance to over 5,200
households. Our SSVF program also assisted 476 veterans with
housing and vital resources.
The ACCESS team of Superheroes works hard to ensure our
neighbors get the services they need. We have a special
opportunity tonight to bring all of our communities together
in one room. Thank you for your generosity tonight and
throughout the year to help our community with food, warmth
and shelter—You are part of a caring community that helps
ACCESS provide immediate and long term solutions to lead
people in need toward self-sufficiency. Tonight we unite to
make a difference.

the study of colors and how they react to each other, from the

the Agora Gallery in New York.
Tamera is an Airforce Veteran who lost her job and found herself
unable to pay rent and came to ACCESS with a 72-hour eviction
notice in January 2019. Our SSVF program was able assist her with
rent and utilities to prevent her from becoming homeless. Tamera
was so moved by the help she received she asked if there was a way
she could give back to the community with her art.
“Each of us have so many sides to ourselves: who we are we are
supposed to be, who we are expected to be, what we have to do
to raise a family, or get along in society. This piece is about all of
those sensations coming together to make the best you….to make
