1. The Taste of the Village, Halloween
Happening, the Holiday Stroll . . .
what makes these events successful
attracting visitors/customers to Glen-
dora Village? It’s the hardworking
volunteers who lend their time and
expertise to the various Event Com-
mittees.
Here’s a handy-dandy guide to
Event Committees and how you can
help, too:
WINE WALK, Friday, Feb. 10,
2012, 6– 9 p.m. Sarah Trent, chair,
(626) 374-2156, RETSarah@aol.com.
The first committee meeting will be
Nov. 8 at Sarah’s office at Coldwell
Banker Millennium in the Village. The
2012 Wine Walk will again have a
“1940s on the Avenue theme,” Sarah
reports, and adds that a portion of
proceeds will be donated to the Glen-
dora War Memorial. She is accepting
registrations at $150 for businesses to
be pouring stations to serve an antici-
pated 1,400 visitors (last year’s Wine
Walk sold out to 1,000). She’s also
seeking help from Village businesses
to sell Wine Walk tickets. Sarah is
assembling her team of sub-chairs, so
drop by the meeting on Nov. 8 for
more details.
CHALK WALK: Saturday, April
21, 2012, Carol Gill, chair, (626) 963-
7868, undercoversintimateap-
parel@verizon.net. If you’re artisti-
cally inclined and want to promote
fine art in the Village, Carol is assem-
bling her planning team now for the
April event, but it’s never too early to
line up registration locations and
sponsorship solicitors. As the Chalk
Walk approaches, she’ll need volun-
teer organizers and publicity coordi-
nation, and on the day of the Chalk
Walk will need section oversight,
early morning set-up, artists’ registra-
tion and supply booth volunteers,
award coordinators.

Before the Holiday Stroll, It’s Halloween Happening 2011!
Each year, Glendora Village’s Halloween Happening gets bigger and bigger, attracting
thousands of children, their parents and families from the city and surrounding communi-
ties.
Little ghoulies, ghosties, princesses and superheroes will take over the Village in search
of sweets, treats, and will have no need to do any tricks on Halloween Monday, Oct. 31,
from 10-2. Be sure to put in an extra supply of treats, and maybe join the fun in costume!
Special thanks to Elaina Phillips and Lisa Eurton, owners of the Village Goldsmith and Da
Avére who also lead the Halloween Happening Committee, for getting this year’s event
ready for memory making.

All systems are “go” for Santa Claus’ safe landing at
Glendora Village’s much anticipated Holiday Stroll on
Friday, Nov. 18. The holiday fun continues with the
Glendora Christmas Parade on Dec. 10.
“The Holiday Stroll runs like a finely tuned clock,” reports Gary
Andrews, owner of Andrews Inc. and chairman of the Glendora Village
Business Improvement District Executive Committee. “Last year’s
celebration attracted thousands and this year will bring out even more
to learn about what the Village has to offer to holiday shoppers and to
those who want to enjoy a special meal at one of our outstanding res-
taurants.”
“We’re especially grateful for all the folks at the City who work
hard to make this a beautiful experience for visitors. From the people
who string the lights in the Village’s trees to the police auxiliary, they
all add to the Stroll’s success year after year,” he added.
The Stroll begins at 6 p.m. when
Glendora City officials light the Christmas Tree in the Village Plaza,
followed by Santa’s arrival for photo-taking with children.
Glendora High School’s Royal Stewards and the Silhouettes will
entertain in the Plaza until about 9 p.m. as visitors explore all the
Village has to offer. The Dickens Singers from Azusa Pacific Uni-
