Local rock bands will perform at a benefit concert called "Chords for Coats" to raise money and collect winter clothing donations for The Salvation Army of Fort Collins, Colorado. The concert will be held on December 12, 2010 at Hodi's Halfnote and will feature performances by local bands including the headliner Give 'Er Hell. Proceeds and clothing donations will help The Salvation Army assist those in need during the cold winter season by providing services such as food, clothing, rent and utility assistance, and youth programs.

Chords for Coats, a benefit concert for The Salvation Army
Local rock bands will perform to help benefit those in need this winter season
FORT COLLINS, COLO. (Dec. 1, 2010)—In order to keep Fort Collins residents warm
and spread holiday cheer The Salvation Army is hosting its first benefit concert. Proceeds from
the concert will go to the local Salvation Army to help those in need this winter season. The
Chords for Coats benefit concert for The Salvation Army will be held Sunday, Dec. 12,
2010 at Hodi’s Halfnote in Fort Collins, Colo. Doors for the concert will be at 5 p.m. while
the show starts at 6 p.m. The concert is open to audience members of all ages. Tickets are $8
for 21 years and up and $10 for those under 21 years of age. Audience members are encouraged
to donate any kind of winter clothing. Those who donate a winter coat at the concert will receive
$2 off their ticket.
“I am really excited about this concert,” said Tucker Johnson, lead singer of Self
Destructive Mind. “It’s a great cause and such a cool idea. We have received a lot of positive
feedback from the community and I know it will be a success.”
“In the many years I have been with The Salvation Army we have never had quite an
event such as this,” said Captain Michael Halverson of The Salvation Army, Fort Collins.

“I am excited for the opportunity to help the community understand what The Salvation Army is,
what services we provide and of course the extra people we will be able to serve because of the
money and warm clothes that will be donated.”
Local rock bands will be donating their time and talent to the cause. The show will be
headlined by local rock band Give ‘Er Hell. Local bicycle show Recycled Cycles will be
donating a bicycle to the event to be given away to an audience member during the concert. This
concert is a great way for community members to support local bands while giving back to those
in need during this cold Colorado winter.
