The Ohio Youth Advisory Board met on October 18th at the Quest Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio. The board discussed receiving a national award, completing a video project, and extending educational training vouchers until age 25. They brainstormed topics including foster care supports until age 21, creating a handbook for regional youth advisory boards, developing normalcy training for group homes, and messaging about the importance of sibling connections. Information was also provided about four regional Thanksgiving events in November for youth in foster care.
