New RI EMS Protocols
The new RI Statewide EMS Protocols have the levels of care
separated by different colors and letters.
Note: The text within the E level of care is applicable to all
levels of care.
The bear logo indicates a
Pediatric Protocol.
The PEARLS section is used
as an educational resource
for the protocol but may
contain care directions.
At the bottom of the page,
the table of contents button
will direct you back to the
section table of contents.
Protocol Educational Guide
This guide will help you understand the
changes and solid (red) and additions
and dotted (blue) to the RI EMS
Protocols. However, it does not include
all language of the protocols. Please
make sure you carefully review the New
EMS protocols.

Navigating the through Protocols
There are multiple ways to navigate through the
protocols.
From the main table of contents click on any
protocol and the link will take you directly to
the protocol.
Within the section table of contents, click on
the title and the link will take you back to the
main table of contents.
Within the protocol, click on the table of
contents icon and the link will take you to that
section’s table of contents.
Within the protocol click on any blue
underlined protocol and the link will take you
to that specific protocol.

guide on how to use the
