Autonomous Power Management for Interlinked AC-DC MicrogridsAsoka Technologies
The existing power management schemes for interlinked AC-DC microgrids have several operational drawbacks. Some of the existing control schemes are designed with the main objective of sharing power among the interlinked microgrids based on their loading conditions, while other schemes regulate the voltage of the interlinked microgrids without considering the specific loading conditions. However, the existing schemes cannot achieve both objectives efficiently. To address these issues, an autonomous power management scheme is proposed, which explicitly considers the specific loading condition of the DC microgrid before importing power from the interlinked AC microgrid. This strategy enables voltage regulation in the DC microgrid, and also reduces the number of converters in operation. The proposed scheme is fully autonomous while it retains the plug-nplay features for generators and tie-converters. The performance of the proposed control scheme has been validated under different operating scenarios. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in managing the power deficit in the DC microgrid efficiently and autonomously while maintaining the better voltage regulation in the DC microgrid.

Power flow control of hybrid micro grids using modified uipcAsoka Technologies
Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) controlled modified Unified Inter-Phase Power Controller (UIPC). For study, a classic hybrid micro-grid connected to grid comprising of a AC micro-grid and a DC micro-grid is taken into account. These micro-grids are interconnected employing a modified UIPC, rather than using the power converters connected in parallel. As the first input of this paper is the standard structure of UIPC, which used three power converters in every phase. It was then modified such as number of power converters is used less and implemented for the control of the exchange of power between AC-DC microgrids. In every phase there is one power electronic converter in the improved structure. It is called as Line Power Converter (LPC). Also there is Bus Power Converter (BPC) to regulate the voltage of the DC bus. The Line Power Converters links the AC micro-grid to the main grid. The DC buses are also linked with them. It can be operated in Inductance Mode (IM) as well as Capacitance Mode (CM). The control structure of LPCs has an Adaptive Fuzzy Logic Controller in it. For hybrid micro-grids, the capability of the suggested power flow control strategy is confirmed by the MATLAB simulation results.

TRANSIENT STABILITY ENHANCEMENT BY USING DSSC AND PSSIAEME Publication
Synchronous operation of generators in power system is required to supply continuous electricity to customers. Proper transient stability must be maintained for stable operation of power system. To enhance the transient stability of power system FACTS or D-FACTS technology can be used. In this paper, Distributed Static Series Compensator (DSSC) which, belongs to D-FACTS technology is used to enhance the transient stability of two-machine system with Power System Stabilizer (PSS) as an auxiliary controller and it is found that DSSC along with PSS is able to maintain required transient stability during severe three-phase to ground fault.

And also stability of synchronous alternator is lost. There are electronic based FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission system) devises is established to enhance the power transmitting capacity. A major important function of FACTS devises is to enhanced power transmission capacity of power system network without increasing power generation capacity of power system. Because system voltage is inversely proportional to transmission loses.

Power system studies are important during the planning and conceptual design stages of the project as well as during the operating life of the plant periodically. The fault is created on different busses and transient stability is analyzedfor different load and generation conditions. The critical clearing time (CCT) is calculated by
using time domain classical extended equal area criterion method. The system frequency and voltage variation is observed for different fault locations and CCT. The IEEE-9 bus test system is simulated and stability is analyzed on ETAP software

Abstract
Modern power system are subject to large disturbances such as three phase short circuit faults. When a fault occurs on a system
the generators rotor angle becomes unstable and thus it losses synchronism with the system and it becomes unstable. Thus
transient stability analysis can be performed on a system in order to understand the generators performance when subjected to a
short circuit fault. When the system is subjected to a fault the generator experiences transient oscillations in rotor speed and
angle which can be effectively suppressed with the incorporation of Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) and Power System
Stabilizer (PSS). The simulations have been performed using the MATLAB/PSAT software.

Solar Photovoltaic Generators with MPPT and Battery Storage in MicrogridsIAES-IJPEDS
Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of a photo voltaic system with
different temperature and insolation conditions used for Micro grids can be
explained in this paper. The different steps of the design of this controller are
presented together with its simulation and the feasibility of control methods
to be adopted for the operation of a micro grid when it becomes isolated.
Normally, the micro grid operates in interconnected mode with the medium
voltage network; however, scheduled or forced isolation can take place.
In such conditions, the micro grid must have the ability to operate stably
and autonomously. An evaluation of the need of storage devices and load to
take off strategies is included in this paper. Solar photovoltaic (PV) energy
has witnessed double-digit growth in the past decade. The penetration of PV
systems as distributed generators in low-voltage grids has also seen
significant attention. In addition, the need for higher overall grid efficiency
and reliability has boosted the interest in the microgrid concept.
High-efficiency PV-based microgrids require maximum power point tracking
(MPPT) controllers to maximize the harvested energy due to the nonlinearity
in PV module characteristics. This paper proposes an approach
of coordinated and integrated control of solar PV generators with the
maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control and battery storage control
to provide voltage and frequency (V-f) support to an islanded microgrid.
The simulation studies are carried out with the IEEE 13-bus feeder test
system in grid connected and islanded microgrid modes. The MPPT
of a Photovoltaic System for Micro Grid operation is successfully designed
and simulated by using MATLAB/Simulink Software in this paper.

However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
