2. Notice
I’m not able to speak english well.
I will try to my presentation today, in my broken english.
My first message, with apologies to Bruce Lee(李小龍),
13. We love to have fun using technology
Trial and error is the best part of development.
Debugging is fun in programming, isn’t it?
It is the essence of development - so we don’t
hide our failures.
14. Stories drive our motivation
Scientist Masahiko Inami invented his Optical Camouflage
technology inspired by Ghost in the Shell.
His favorite quote: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is
indistinguishable from magic.” -Arthur C. Clarke
Engrossing stories encourage others to act.
They push fiction to become reality.
15. Stories drive our motivation
Award-winning science fiction author Hosuke Nojiri (@nojiri_h)
is also an active member of Nico-Tech.
He says “I don’t just write science fiction, I do science fiction,”
and engages in various maker activities:
• Launching homemade rockets
• Creating ornithopters shaped like underwear
16. Stories drive our motivation
Nojiri’s latest novel is a story of the future where
a Fablab style open-sourced factory develops
a spaceship and eventually achieves
spaceflight.
17. The future can work out without
silicon valley
We created the ASIMO for our longing of Astro Boy.
We long for Hatsune Miku and strive to make her real.
There is no Apple nor Google in asia.
But we do have stories - and we think that brings us very close
to the future. We walk different paths from silicon valley, but
all roads lead to the future.
18. DIY Community in Japan
• DIY Music Tune
• 1200 DIY Tunes. Every tune Over 100000 View.
• Over 500 DIY Music Maker.
•
DIY Animation,Manga
• We Japanese can make 3 hour concert.
Every song’s are DIY Tune,
Every dance’s are DIY animation,
Every cloth are DIY Manga.
•
This is voice synthesizer “HATSUNE MIKU”.
20. This presentation was crowdsourced
online by Japanese Makers
Our motivation is fun.
Fun is what makes the future.
We look forward to see you at
Maker Faire Tokyo 2014,November!
23. About teamlab
teamLab is an ultra-technologists group
made up of information specialists including;
engineers
(user interface engineers, data base engineers,
network engineers, robot engineers, computer
vision engineers,
software architects),
mathematicians, architects, CG animators, web
designers, graphic designers, artists, and editors.
400 employees work in tokyo. 70% engineers.
25. There is not much of a border between
Design and Art because we focus on the
digital domain.
We sell art works at the top world art
markets, such as Art Basel. We also find
solutions for new products.
49. 3rd Prototype
More visual effect,light, perspective
by Unity3D engineer and Designer.
Before effect
After effect
50. 4th Prototype
Move and Visual design by engineer and
mathematics
pos.x = A * sin(t);
pos.y =
B * noise(pos.x,t);
pos.z =
C * cos(pos.x/C+t);
noise(x,y):
51. 5th Prototype
Algorithm
Fish swim aim target
Same shape fish
same target,
making squadron
Escape from the Shark
When Escape and Find
food are more fast.
52. 6th Prototype
Visual and Move Making(important!)
Understandable, Look so good,not borling
Every moveing has meaningful.
Meaningless moveing is borling.
Still same move is borling.
53. 7th Prototype
Interaction Design
How to get drawing in display
The fishes are touchable?
The fishes eyes are able to see us?
How to connect Virtual and Physical.
56. How to Multi diciplinary co-working?
Prototype is best way,not need language.
“Two heads are better than one.”
Don’t think alone,All right!
57. One More Thing
Make:technology on my time
I told about our business product.
But next thing is not out business Prototypeing,
Made by only our mind.
58. This is our toilet.
Our office toilet is few.
Typical Enginner is male.
Toilet for male always under heavy
traffic.
59. Heaven’s door
An engineer want is "don't stop my hacking".
An engineer want to recognize his toilet are “open"
or “closed" at his desk.
Therefore we made it.
66. Do It With Others “heaven’s door”
@nazoking
I make it web user interface!
When toilet open, send alert from web page.
67. Do It With Others “heaven’s door”
Other Enginner makes:
Heaven's door become adapt cacti
(network graphing solution).
We can recognise heavy traffic time.
68. We are the Future!
Thank you “Technologia Incognita”

■しゃべる英語Hello fablabbers! Good (morningとかafternoonとか) ! I want to introduce “Nico-Tech”. We are crazy Japanese fab-geek/maker/tech enthusiasts.
We don’t just read or write science fiction, we do science fiction.
Are you ready? start my presentation.
Attention Please! My first message is Verrrrry Verrry inportant.

Difference of US and Japan, in shortThe American creates devices for first-person shooters;we use them to shake hands with virtual idols.
American make game controllers sutable to FPS.
Japanese use it to shake hands with Miku Hatsune.Guys in the US like to blow stuff up, Asian Geeks like cute idols, Right?
