Linda Kelly from UCT Libraries presented a workshop on how libraries can make academic life easier. She discussed three basics: 1) library websites and contact information which provide one-stop access to resources and research help, 2) how to search the online catalogue and databases to find books and articles, and 3) how to find specific resources and avoid plagiarism through proper referencing. Kelly provided examples of searching the online catalogue and databases to locate a book and journal article. She emphasized the importance of referencing and avoiding plagiarism.
