This document summarizes research using mass spectrometry to map the biomolecules in LDL particles at a molecular level. Key findings include: 1) Over 350 lipid species from 11 classes were identified in LDL, along with over 70% of the ApoB-100 protein sequence and modifications like oxidation and adduction. 2) 28 N-glycan chains were found distributed across 8 glycosylation sites on ApoB-100. 3) Sites of oxidized lipid adduction to ApoB-100 were located in both alpha-helix and beta-sheet regions of the protein.
