In the Adani-Hindenburg case, what is SEBI investigating.pptxAdani case
Adani SEBI investigation revealed that the latter had sought information from five foreign jurisdictions concerning the holdings of the firm’s foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in relation to the alleged violations of the MPS Regulations. Nevertheless, the economic interest of the twelve FPIs based in tax haven jurisdictions still needs to be determined. The Adani Group firms classed these FPIs as public shareholders. According to Hindenburg, FPIs were used to get around regulatory standards.

27. THE OLD CITY OF FAMAGUSTA, CYPRUS
Excerpt from the personal message by
Plácido Domingo which was read
at the local awards ceremony
on 3 October 2011 in Nicosia:
“I am convinced that the today’s story of the old city of
Famagusta can get a “happy end”: if we all work together to
help overcome barriers and to find creative and
constructive solutions to the many problems. Only through
a spirit of cooperation and through our shared love for this
beautiful heritage - which belongs to all Cypriots and to all
Europeans - can we save the ancient city of
Famagusta.”
Plácido Domingo, President of Europa Nostra
30. ALLIANOI CAMPAIGN
Letter to H.E. Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Turkey
4 January 2011
“…I wish to extend a personal appeal to you to reconsider the decision
to flood the unique Roman Spa settlement of Allianoi and thus to
prevent such a cultural tragedy from happening.
We are numerous who strongly believe that saving the ancient site of
Allianoi would bring lasting and sustainable benefits to the local
population in Turkey. (…) saving this ancient treasure would enrich us
all, the people of Turkey as well as the other Europeans, for generations
to come. Moreover, instead of disappearing under the water, a site of
such archaeological importance like Allianoi can become a powerful
asset for a sustainable local tourist development, with the creation of
many new jobs..”
Plácido Domingo, President of Europa Nostra
