What's xip

A transversal network of persons tied to
Catalonia's public administrations or linked to
ongoing initiatives. They are commited to
improve citizen service by managing innovation,
and applying best practices in collaborative
technology.
Presently, xip relies on a group of involved
professionals encouraging their respective
administrations to incorporate improvements,
enhance and deepen communication, share
knowledge, achieve objectives and deliver
on commitments.

Main objectives



1. Improve working methods, fostering citizenship participation.
2. Make citizen's life easier.
3. Become opinion leaders.

Secondary objectives 1/2

1. Increase efficiency.
-         Boost affordable technology platform, either by cost, or simplicity.

-         Promote methodologies and accountability tools in the collaborative workspace and
also in   social networks usage in the public administration to make evident value delivery.

2. Improve transparency towards citizen.
-         Teaching. Courseware programme for public administration schools.

-         Sensibilization. Propose and organize awareness sessions for public workers.

-        Promote public discussion. Participate in events and seminars dealing with
transparency,    participation and collaboration in public services.

-         Article submission and other materials for publications and forums
          related with public administration.

3. Implement collective intelligence.
-        Evaluate opening xip common spaces to spread member materials, related with
xip's    objectives (blog, Facebook page or group -FB-, Twitter account -TW- and
repositories      like Slideshare -SL-, Flickr -FL-, Youtube -YT- and others to be
considered).
-      Mutually join in RSS Readers and sharing files and folders between xip
members.
-         Delicious boundles and tags (precisely stratified) to share bookmarks between
xip       members.

4. Involve other public workers.
- Prepare the letter of commitment to explain xip's adherence and participation
         conditions .

5. Boost citizen participation.
- Put national, state and international-wide citizen participation initiatives
          on the spot for the whole public administration sector.

Who can join xip?

In order to achieve xip's membership, you have to be willing to
invest time and efforts to work in new ways to improve processes
and services while, at the same time, accepting the letter of
commitments, based on the following principles:
1. Fair usage of username and password on community spaces.
2. Fair usage of xip's environment, and mutual respect between users.
3. Personal data veracity.
4. Fair usage of services and technology resources.
5. Personal data protection.
6. Intellectual property protection.
7. Responsability for contents, statements
       and user behavior.
