Dean of WBS Howard Thomas has been honoured with the title of ABS
Companion, this title was created to celebrate the 15th anniversary
of the launch of the Association of Business Schools (ABS). Seven
companions in total have been awarded. Besides Howard, two of the
other Companions, Peter McKiernan and Andrew Pettigrew, are former
professors of WBS.
Professor Lloyd Harris has been awarded the prestigious American
Marketing Association (AMA) Marketing Services Paper of the Year
for his majority authored paper entitled Service Sabotage: A Study of
Antecedents and Consequences in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing
Science.
Professor Lucio Sarno has been awarded the US-based Centre for
Economic Policy Research/ESI 2007 prize for the Best Central Bank
Research Paper. Lucio co-authored Asset Prices, Exchange Rates and
the Current Account, looking into the role of asset prices mainly in
comparison to exchange rates as a driver of the US trade balance.
